Hi! My (30F) FET protocol (fully medicated as I’m anovulatory) has been continuously delayed while waiting for prior authorization. It was originally submitted 8/4 and my clinic confirmed receipt on 8/11 and again on 8/27 (this representative told my clinic they were making notes to mark it as urgent). My clinic has tried to stay on top of them, but have been met continuously with 3-4 hour wait times. When I’ve called, they have no record of a pending prior authorization or the notes we’ve been told were made. I’ve spoken with several people and gotten different information every time on who I should talk to. I feel like I’m not being taken seriously and that I’m in an eternal holding period.

Normally, I would just wait it out. However, my insurance plan is being discontinued on 10/1, and my fertility coverage will change, so I have to transfer by 9/30 or we won’t be able to (simply cannot afford to pay out of pocket at our clinic or elsewhere). This has been communicated with my clinic since we started prepping for ER in May. They have communicated the urgency with each PA request, especially after it took 6.5 weeks to get a decision back for my ER (they are supposed to have a maximum 15 day turnaround time in decisions), significantly delaying that process as well.

I guess my question is- what now? What else can I try? Has anybody else with BCBS Carefirst had success navigating prior authorization as a member rather than provider? What/who did you ask?

Hi there! I’m on my 3rd day of stims for my 1st round of IVF. So far, I haven’t had any pain/burning issues with Menopur? I’m not complaining, at all, but it’s making me a little nervous that I’m doing something wrong haha. Has anybody else had this experience?

I (30F) will be in Belgium with my husband (30M) this summer. See below for our plans, feel free to share any feedback!

• Tuesday: 13:10 train from Amsterdam to Brussels. Take bus to Bruges. (Any advice for this?) Canal tour, visit the Market Square and Church of Our Lady. End night at Bar Bulles. Get beer (De Halve Maan?) and fries somewhere!
• Wednesday: Day trip to Zeebrugge or Oostende.
• Thursday: Train to Brussels. Grand place & Manneken Pis, The Atomium, Comic Strip, Art & History Museum. Maybe Fromagerie Catherine for lunch and Le Bistro – Porte de Hal for dinner before taking the train back to Bruges?
• Friday: Have waffles somewhere before taking the 13:00 train to Paris!

We don't have any specific plans for breakfast; should we??

I'm also wondering if we should try to do our Brussels day on Tuesday instead of taking the train back again. If we did, is there a safe way to store our luggage until we'd head to Bruges?

We wanted to leave time for the unplanned, while making sure we hit the major things. Let me know what you think!

• Thursday: Take the 13:00 train from Paris into London. Drop luggage at hotel in Kensington. Check out the Victoria and Albert Museum. Dishoom reservation at 17:45 PM.
• Friday: Notting Hill in the morning/afternoon. Thinking Ottolenghi for lunch? Back to Kudu for dinner at 18:30 PM.
• Saturday: Afternoon tea at the Orangery at 12:00 PM. West end show in the afternoon (We haven't bought tickets yet- any suggestions on what show to see?). We'd also like to see Big Ben and Buckingham Palace on this day.
• Sunday: Visit the Tower of London, Sky Garden, and Borough Market. Dinner at Hereford Arms for Sunday Roast.
• Monday: Train to Richmond. Self-guided walking tour (thanks Reddit!) of Ted Lasso spots! Dinner at The Prince's Head.
• Tuesday: Head to the airport, back to the USA!

Hi! My husband and I will be beginning our first IVF cycle this summer. Based on conversations with our team, we have a general idea of when l’ll start stims and complete an egg retrieval (likely early to mid July). This falls in the same time frame as my best friend’s 30th birthday float trip, with the weekend falling either right before or right after we’d do the retrieval. I’d really like to show up for this friend during such a milestone birthday, and especially with how supportive she’s been on our fertility journey, but I’m not sure how I should expect to feel. It would be a Friday-Sunday at a cabin about 2 hours from our home, with a 4-6 hour float trip on Saturday. Any advice or insight is greatly appreciated!
