I live in Houston , TX and I am looking for a Nursing Home internship (Administrator in Training).

I need to get an internship so I can satisfy the programs requirements.

I can’t find one anywhere.

Please help!!!! If anyone has experience or even advice PLEASE chime in.

I was looking to behind a Nursing Home Administrator. I picked out a program and was lining up my internship (TX requires 1000 hrs) plus getting ready to devote 1 year of academics.

I had trouble finding an internship and no one would help. I later find out that internships are very hard to come by. I ended up talking to my cousin and he flat out asked me why was I looking to become a nursing home administrator.

He said he would advise against it because the government and other agencies watch them like hawks. He also said that nursing home administrators are liable for everything.. patient care, any issues they are liable. They are on call. He recommended that I look into an assisted living manager. They are private pay (most are) and they are not so regulated. Education is 3 classes vs. 1 yr plus internship for a nursing home administrator.

Any advice is greatly appreciated .

If you have any recommendations, thoughts about how to get seniors to enroll now pre- aep and any advice to make it a successful Aep, I would really appreciate it. FMO not helping.

I have a big dilemma and If you’re reading this, I would love to hear your thoughts.

I became a Medicare agent one year ago (right before AEP). I had a tough time due to starting so late in the game. I had very low enrollment numbers (single digits). I am now preparing for AEP this year.

I am deeply concerned. I don’t know if I’ll be successful at all and even attempt this.

Regarding this year’s AEP, I was told that a successful AEP is mainly determined by renewals and referrals.
Considering that I don’t have much of either, am I setting myself up for failure? Would you sell Medicare if you were in my shoes? My FMO is not very helpful.

I have a family relying on me.

Hello. I just had an electrician at my house because my daughter thought one of her electrical outlets fell hot.

The electrician told us we need to replace the outlet because it’s a stab connection and the outlet is old. When he replaced the outlet, there were a few sparks.

He then proceeded to tell me that it is critical that I check all the outlets in the house because they were installed in correctly (ground up instead of down) and the other outlets are probably stab connections.

Does this sound right? My daughter also mentioned seeing the lights dim a few times a while back. He suggested that I check the lights when they come in to do the outlets.
