No start on a running 924

The car ran great last week, but someone wouldn't start tonight.

I tested for spark, it has spark, even jumped the ignition coil so that it would get 12v from the battery

I put starter fluid through the vacuum line port above the fifth injector

I tested compression (125psi on cyl 1, but engine is cold)

I hit the K-Jet with a wooden hammer, and I can tell fuel is getting in there by moving the sensor plate

Fuel pump is priming and there's fuel in the fuel tank

Timing is all good, checked crankshaft, camshaft, and rotor all on time

Sensors part number for EFI conversion

Hello

I'm preparing an EFI conversion for my 924 which has no sensors at all. I've taken courses about EFI tuning and I believe I'm pretty well versed to manage the conversion.

Only issue is, where do you get your sensors? Has anyone ever done an EFI conversion with the ECU EMU classic and has a list of all the core sensors (ckp+cmp, tps, map, iat, etc...)

Question bidon d'essence

testing brake booster one way check valve

Hello, I've got an old 924 I restored. All brakes (drum internals, callipers, brake lines, discs and pads) are new and rebuilt. The only thing I haven't touched are the hard brake lines, master cylinder, and brake booster.

At idle, pressing several times on the brakes raise the idle. Pedal is kinda soft even though it's not leaking brake fluid (it's on the max) and a shop flushed the brakes for me.

Could the one way check valve be the culprit (intake manifold to brake booster)?

Making a car underbody with dimples?

Hello, I'm new to this but I'm reading Julian Edgar's book on aerodynamics.

Is there any benefits from making the underbody of a car with dimples? The diffuser etc?

Inner tie rod compatibility: Golf Mk1

Hello, I just ordered a Golf Mk1 inner tie rod kit for my 924 (1979, 2.0l NA)

And I can confirm the inner tie rod does fit and is much more affordable (cheapest I found was 191e for the pair).

1.8t swap

Yo wassup guys, so all and all, I'm thinking of pulling out my engine to properly clean it and fix it (new headgasket, and I got a leaking freeze plug) before doing an EFI conversion.

But then I'm thinking, might as well just get a decent 1.8t.

I know it's been done before, I'd just like to know:

- difficult to get a compatible clutch assembly? I have the 924 2.0l NA with the five speed gearbox

- I'll need custom engine mounts as well innit

- the cross member will be in the way, so I need a custom oil pan?

I'm probably missing something

Hello, I would like to build an flat under body to

  1. Make the aero better

  2. Protect the engine from rocks coming from beneath

I thought about getting big sheets of aluminium but I'm seeing more people are doing it with sheets of plywood?

What if I got a cheap ping pong table instead?

It's for a 924

Bonjour,

Hello

Is it possible to upgrade the steering rack with a power steering rack or do I just have to hit the gym more?

My steering rack is dead so I'm wondering if it's possible
