DSE student from Maharashtra looking for scholarships I can stack with Rajarshi Shahu

Hi everyone,

I’m a female student from Maharashtra entering B.E./B.Tech through Direct Second Year Engineering (DSE/lateral entry) through the Maharashtra CAP process.

My profile:

- Female

- Maharashtra domicile

- EWS

- Family income: ₹5,48,200/year

- Diploma in Computer Engineering (MSBTE)

- Diploma aggregate: 94.12%

- Entering 2nd year B.E./B.Tech through DSE

- Looking at engineering colleges in Pune

My Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj scholarship/fee benefit is non-negotiable, so I don't want to replace it.

I’m trying to find additional private/CSR scholarships that legally allow me to retain Rajarshi.

I’m particularly looking for scholarships that provide actual financial assistance for:

- Laptop

- Books and stationery

- Transportation

- Internet

- Food/mess

- Accommodation

- Other educational expenses

I know many popular scholarships are first-year only, which makes them unavailable to DSE students. I’m specifically looking for scholarships that accept 2nd-year/lateral-entry engineering students.

My ₹5.48L income means I qualify for scholarships with a ₹6L or ₹8L income ceiling, but not those capped at ₹5L or below.

Some scholarships I’ve come across include Virtusa, Cybage Khushboo, Cummins, and various Vidyasaarathi/Buddy4Study CSR scholarships. However, I’m unsure which ones genuinely accept DSE students and, more importantly, which ones allow you to keep Rajarshi simultaneously.

Questions:

  1. Has anyone successfully received a private/CSR scholarship while also keeping Rajarshi Shahu?

  2. Which scholarships specifically accept DSE/lateral-entry B.E./B.Tech students?

  3. Are there any Pune or Maharashtra specific scholarships I should look at?

  4. Are there scholarships that provide money for laptops, living expenses, travel, or books, rather than only tuition?

  5. Has anyone with a similar income of around ₹5.5L and a high diploma percentage successfully stacked scholarships?

I’d really appreciate actual experiences or official sources rather than generic scholarship lists. Thanks!

Need honest advice about SPIT Mumbai (DSE Student, Female) – Parents concerned about safety, PGs & expenses

Hi everyone,

I'm a female student taking admission through Direct Second Year Engineering (DSE) this year. My diploma percentage is 94.12%, and SPIT is one of my dream colleges.

However, my parents are hesitant about Mumbai because we'd have to arrange a PG/hostel. I have a distant relative in Tardeo (Forjett Hill), but I won't be staying there. My uncle and aunt live in Pune, so they're comparing SPIT with top Pune colleges like PICT and VIT.

I'd really appreciate honest answers from current SPIT students or alumni.

Accommodation

- Which PGs/hostels do most SPIT girls stay in?

- Which ones would you genuinely recommend?

- What's the monthly rent?

- Are meals included?

- Is there a curfew?

- How far are they from campus?

Safety

- Is the area around SPIT safe for girls, especially after evening labs or club activities?

- Is it common for girls to walk to nearby PGs?

- Have you or your friends faced any safety concerns?

- Are autos and public transport easily available at night?

Expenses

- What's your realistic monthly budget (rent + food + travel + laundry + miscellaneous)?

- Are there any hidden expenses that people don't usually talk about?

Academics & DSE

- How smooth is the transition from diploma to second year?

- Are DSE students treated the same as regular students?

- Is the workload manageable?

Placements

- Do DSE students get equal placement opportunities?

- If you had the choice today between SPIT and top Pune colleges like PICT or VIT, which would you choose and why?

Finally, if you had a younger sister with similar options, would you recommend SPIT to her? What would you tell your own parents?

I'm looking for honest experiences—both positives and negatives. Thanks in advance!

This bitch ruined my college life

I'm a 19-year-old girl, and this is something that actually happened to me.

For privacy, I'll call the girl in this story Shraddha. I've attached a photo of her, but I'm not posting this to make comments about her appearance or invite anyone else to.

During my final year of my diploma, my division changed. I didn't know many people in my new class, but over time I became part of a friend group of around nine people. I also started dating one of the guys in that group, and at first, things were going really well.

As time passed, I realized the group had a strange dynamic. One girl acted like the "leader," and everyone else seemed to follow whatever she said.

That's when Shraddha became a major problem in my life. She constantly made hurtful comments about my appearance. She body-shamed me, called me "flat," and repeatedly tried to make me feel insecure. Even though I've been complimented by strangers and people around me, her comments still affected my confidence.

About two weeks before our final diploma exams, my relationship was already struggling. My boyfriend was extremely possessive. He constantly doubted me and often criticized me for having an ex, even though I had never given him a reason not to trust me. I was his first girlfriend, and I think his insecurity played a big role.

Shraddha noticed that we were having problems and encouraged my boyfriend to go through my phone. He did. He didn't find evidence of cheating. The only things he found were a birthday message from my ex and an old conversation where I was telling my ex how much I hated the way he had treated me. Somehow, that was twisted into proof that I was being unfaithful.

Instead of talking to me, my boyfriend started asking people about my past. Shraddha began making up stories about me.

At the time, I had a very close guy best friend. He was gay but wasn't publicly out. He had only trusted me with that information. My boyfriend didn't know.

One day, the group's "leader" and another girl borrowed my best friend's laptop. While using it, they logged into his WhatsApp without his permission, went through our private conversations, took photos of our chats, and sent them to Shraddha and my boyfriend.

By doing that, they outed my best friend without his consent. They also found conversations where I was venting about how unhealthy and emotionally exhausting my relationship had become. My best friend had been encouraging me to leave because he could see how toxic things were getting.

Instead of seeing those messages for what they were, they twisted the situation and acted as if my best friend was trying to come between us or that I had cheated on my boyfriend.

I had absolutely no idea any of this was happening behind my back.

Then one day my boyfriend made me sit alone at a table, confronted me, and broke up with me. After that, nobody in the group spoke to me. Both my best friend and I were removed from every group chat and cut off completely.

Overnight, I lost my relationship, almost all of my friends, and my support system—right before my final exams.

It was one of the hardest periods of my life. I was dealing with a breakup, complete social isolation, and the pressure of finals all at the same time. I'm an introvert, so making new friends wasn't easy. I was so alone that I couldn't even attend my farewell.

Despite everything, I pushed through and graduated with 94%.

I'm sharing this now because I've finally finished my diploma and left that town behind. I'm not writing this to seek revenge or to send hate toward anyone. I'm writing it because what happened to me was wrong. My privacy was violated, my best friend was outed without his consent, lies were spread about me, and I was isolated over things that were either completely false or deliberately twisted.

For a long time, I stayed quiet. I blamed myself and wondered if I deserved what happened.

I know now that I didn't.

I was the one who was betrayed, manipulated, and made into the villain of a story that wasn't true. I deserved better, and I deserved to be heard.

Guys roast me

I'm way more confident than my face has any business allowing. I genuinely think I could pull almost any guy if I felt like it. I'm stubborn, dramatic, loud, and I've never met an argument I couldn't accidentally turn into a TED Talk. I gossip like it's an Olympic event, I'm convinced I'm right at least 97% of the time, and my ego has its own ZIP code. I came here because my friends are enablers. I once gave relationship advice with the confidence of someone who's never read the instructions and somehow made everything worse. Tear me apart. I've earned it.
