Where do I belong?

I've been chasing the UO dragon for over 20 years now. Can't find a private/custom server that keeps me coming back.

Is 10-20 people all we can hope for in a non-Outlands server? That feels so empty, and even worse when you're constantly running into chars that are just afk macroing. That's what threw me off of UOR. This is my biggest lack in the servers I've tried, and easily the biggest hurdle for any server to overcome, I imagine.

The virtual lack of non-consensual PvP robs all excitement from me. I want to chase and be chased.

I haven't found any servers where the new/custom content is focused on bringing players together in order to foster emergent scenarios or motivations. Seems like it's all endgame PvM or crafting. The problem with that is it doesn't add any friction between players/groups of players. It encourages solo play or group play where everyone involved has a common goal and the only friction is against the game itself, instead of other players.

Speaking of friction, the stripping thereof seems to be a consistent throughline and the biggest drawback for me. GM'ing chars takes too long; remove friction by afk macroing. Farming dungeons is too tedious, time consuming or risky; remove friction by adding gates on every dungeon level. Remove friction by adding instances.

They all feel like solo/coop rpgs without the benefit of an engaging narrative throughout.

This is a bit of a ramble. Disagree with me to help me get some clarity on my thoughts about these and other issues of trying to enjoy UO in present day. I want the magic back.

Can anyone ID this?

This was given to me. Judging by the lack of branding on anything, I'm guessing it's something from Amazon. Still, I'd like to know if I can get parts for it. Thanks!

I'm making an incremental game based on the UO inventory system

Still very early WIP. The only player mechanic is dragging and dropping. Of course, any UO sprites will be replaced by the end.

(It's not available for download or wishlist or anything at this time, just wanted to share.)

Show me your DIY rear cargo lids

I'm considering making one using unistrut and plywood.

JKU Bumperectomy

$60 for the caps + 1 sawzall blade. Love how it turned out.

I understand there's not a surface on the top of the rear bumper to butt a cap to as nicely, but does anyone know if there's a similar product for the back?

Is It Worth The Effort?

I'd appreciate some advice from the fiberglass experts here.

I just bought this Capri 14.2 cheap, including a galvanized trailer in good condition. I'm still learning to sail and if I can get a couple of seasons of lake sailing out of it then I'll be satisfied with the money spent.

I haven't seen any blistering so, from my limited research, I'm guessing these spider cracks are mainly just in the gel coat. My first question is: can I ride this out for a couple of years?

I'd also like to try some repair on this boat as part of my sailing learning experience. I've seen many instructions on dremeling spider cracks then filling with epoxy/filler. Given the large area over which these are spread, would it be more practical to sand the gel coat down over the whole area and lay a couple layers of CSM then reapply gel coat, etc.?

Lastly, what's the best way to remove the anti-skid areas? Are they analogous to something like roll on bed liner? As they also have large areas of spider webbing in some places, my though was to sand/remove them entirely and roll on a new layer once the repairs are finished.

Thanks!

Should I have given the space?

I'm in the Wh/Gr/Red. Last check of my mirror the overtaker was in line behind me. Granted, I was probably going a little slow, the track and car were both new to me. This was during a practice session.

The only info I've been able to find about this is that it's June 11-17, somewhere in TN/KY. I've checked WRC, ARA and ACCUS sites but found nothing.

Anyone know where I can find more info?
