Follow Up: Got a table at a gunshow - heres how I did

Follow up from my previous post - bought a table at a local gun show - priced 5% below gunbroker market to see if I could make some deals

Overall - very mixed - the show had lighter attendance than everyone hoped (summer I guess) - and far fewer c&r folks (and actually the c&r items I did sell went to non-c&R folks)

It was quite fun to talk to people about historical items and share some stories - I sort of understand why the old guys do it. It's better than scrolling your phone or being home alone in retirement.

I noticed my overpriced m1 carbine and my m1 garand were the cheapest at the show (the garand by a lot) - had lots of interest but no one pulled the trigger on either (which is totally fine)

I had two collectors take my info because they wanted to think about some higher end stuff I had - I doubt i'll hear from them, but we'll see if I make a sale.

My non-c&r stuff sold quickly - but they were at clean out my safe give away prices.

Finally after I had given up hope and started packing up someone came and paid asking for one of my rifles - and I gave him a deal on all the ammo I had for it.

Overall - don't underestimate the amount of effort it takes to vend at these shows - pricing and marking things up takes awhile - and moving all the stuff in and breaking down afterwards was incredibly time consuming.

Don't think i'll buy a table again, but was fun to talk to people about some of the more historical items.

Selling some of my collection at a gun show - general tips and how to price?

Selling some pieces I’ve acquired that don’t fit my needs anymore - bought a table at a show that’s more heavily c&r

How do you think about price - my strategy right now is to take market rate (sold on gunbroker etc) -5% with a sign that I’m open to offers and trades

What else should I know?

I’m hoping the Customer Service ticket service that I just filed has a happy ending, but just wanted to share my recent purchase.

Took advantage of the cz 82 deal last week - they were sold as good to very good condition. The firearm I received was in poo to fair minus condition.

Finish is around 40%, the bore while shiny is pitted and smooth.

Very frustrating example and honestly worse than I would’ve expected from RTI much less PSA.

Hoping I’m an outlier on this one
