Camille's Support Pick rate officially overtakes her Top lane Pick rate.

From Camille's Lolalytics Page, we're now sat at 48.4% Support pick rate and 48.3% Top pick rate.

I posted about this just 3 days ago that I was worried this would happen, but I didn't think it would happen this quickly.

MSI play-ins stage has concluded, and Camille has been 100% pick ban so far, with her being first phase banned every game by TLAW against T1.

So now that we're here, what happens? Do we accept that we're another Maokai or Seraphine and just swap to Support? Or do we wait to see if Riot makes any adjustments to the Champion to put her back in her intended role?

How do you power down a deck without feeling bad about it?

My friends and I regularly play Bracket 3 Commander; decks are powerful but not necessarily optimised, lists have multiple game changers in them and most games usually end around turns 8-10.

However, after 19 games, my Bant Flicker deck currently sits at 15 wins and 4 losses; a roughly 79% winrate. My friends regularly argue that the deck is Bracket 4 (it's not), and that they don't know how to beat it.

So, in an effort to make my friends not hate the deck, I want to try and power it down whilst still maintaining its identity; assemble value engines and use toolbox creatures to slow my opponents whilst still advancing my board.

Whilst I could remove a bunch of the tutors, replace them with generic card draw and call it a day, I feel like I would enjoy the deck so much less than way.

[[Birthing Pod]] chains, [[Spellseeker]] searching for [[Ephemerate]], [[Transit Mage]] finding [[Conjurer's Closet]] are some of the value engines that I really enjoy, as they continue to accrue more and more card advantage with each turn.

The other option I considered is one that I have already done to a small degree. You may notice the lack of [[Felidar Guardian]] in the list, and this is because it was a 2 card combo with [[Preston, the Vanisher]] that I kept finding myself searching for and ending games prematurely.

The current list has 2 combo finishes:

  • A 3+ mana dork like [[Bloom Tender]] + [[Derevi, Empyrial Tactician]] + [[Emiel, the Blessed]] + a trigger doubler like [[Panharmonicon]]. This generates infinite mana, and by using excess mana to flicker my commander, draws my deck and makes infinitely large creatures.

  • [[Agatha's Soul Cauldron]] with [[Crystalline Crawler]] underneath it + [[Shalai, Voice of Plenty]] + at least 7 creatures total (or 4 total with something like [[Hardened Scales]]. This allows you to pay 6 mana to add at least 7 +1/+1 counters, remove 6 of them to add 6 mana (as each creature with a +1/+1 counter has the Crystalline Crawlers abilities) and repeat this for infinite mana and infinitely large creatures.

As you may notice, both of these combos require 3+ pieces to pull off. So they usually take multiple turns of setup to put together. Whilst I'm not completely against removing these combos, the fact that every piece is synergistic with the deck, rather than just being put in for the sake of the combo, means I'm skeptical to remove them, especially as I don't even know if they are the problem.

So my question is; how do you identify the aspect of your deck that is too powerful for your pod, and how do you find suitable replacements without losing your own personal enjoyment?

So we're Support mains now?

For those who aren't aware, the Mid Season Invitational (MSI) started today with the play-ins stage.

2 Best of 5s have been played so far; Team Liquid vs T1 and KC vs DCG.

In both series, Camille was picked in Game 1 early in the draft... both times in Support.

Now I'm aware that pro play couldn't be more different than solo queue, but I think we can all admit that solo queue will follow trends from international play.

From the Camille page on Lolalytics, you can see that Camille is now being picked Top 54% of the time, and Support 42% of the time. If Camille continues to be a strong support pick, I can only imagine this percentage will move closer to 50/50.

It's understandable why; Support covers some of Camille's weaknesses. No waveclear? You're not farming. You're bad into Bruisers? Bot lane is full of squishy ADCs and Mages.

But at the same time, it's sad to see one of the Four Horsewomen of Top Lane reduced to a support role and my concern is that if she continues to be a strong option, they'll look to nerf support, which will invariably hurt her Top lane win rate as well.

I've been queuing support secondary, and the games where I get the role, it does feel very strong. But I just want Camille back in the top lane.

Has anyone else made the full switch to Support Camille? How have you been finding it and do you think it's a problem or just a flash in the pan?

Attention VoD guys, gals and enby pals who wanted to watch a special rendition of Lord of the Rings but lives in a state where you have to provide ID to do so

Here’s an updated post now that we’ve all learnt how to check for breast cancer.

Vods for all the field trips can be found below:

Egypt visit part I

Egypt visit part II

How chocolate is made

Learning about space

Spooky Island Trip

Vietnam War Museum tour

A Festive Field trip

Journey to Mt Doom

To watch these, I've found the best way to do this is to watch it through VLC media player, either by downloading the video or copy/pasting the url. But do whatever works for you.

Hope this can keep the subreddit fairly clear of all the posts asking for a VoD.

Or it’ll get lost in a sea of posts discussing how long you can survive by drinking only your own piss.

Love you 🩵(say it back)
