New video is up and it's awesome! It shows you how to integrate Vpin Studio with iScored to create a gameroom monitor to display highscores automatically!

I show 4 different ways to input high scores so your cool looking gameroom monitor or high score cards on your vpin have lots of different ways to keep it updated!

So much cool stuff in this video, honestly it is one of the best reasons to use Vpin Studio!

All of the stepper units are restored on the 1973 Williams Triple Action EM pinball machine!

So here's an update to see the progression of the start up issues. Looks like drop targets are next! Also it seems like the ball trough switch needs cleaned and adjusted so there's another video to do for all of the playfeild switches too. Soooo good!

Marco Specialties thanks again for all of the tools and coil sleeves for this resto!

Tutorial video coming soon!

Moving on to the spinner unit and the bonus unit on the 1973 Williams Triple Action EM pinball machine under the playfield!

These ones are really gross, someone tried to spray graphite all over everything to get it working.....big no no. Plus I noticed a shady looking coil and sure enough its burnt out. Let's get this done and make another video for you guys!

1973 Triple Action Restoration

Moving on to the stepper units on the 1973 Triple Action and boy oh boy do they need rebuilding. They're really dirty and barely move.....all of them.

Gonna start with the match unit which is a single coil and then rebuild the ball count unit. Take a lot of pictures if it's your first time so you know how to put it back together, mark the spider finger and the pcb with a sharpie to put it back on after in the correct orientation ( only required if there are 2 coils), polish the pcb and fingers with metal polish, ultrasonic clean the parts (I polished these too to make it all look good), take a Dremel with a small stainless brush and buff the leaf switch contacts, and reassemble the parts with a new coil sleeve. The torsion spring should be 3 turns of tension before attaching.

Check the leaf contacts are correct and adjust as needed. It's easy to see which ones are open or closed based off of the position of the home position pin and end of coil stroke. This is gonna make another great diy tutorial, video coming soon.

So satisfying to see the difference and see them moving smoothly.....like mechanical art!

Small engine part is $50? Can't find/buy an outdated part?

No worries, just scan the part, draw it up in CAD, export it as a STL, and 3d print it out! Easy peasy and all done for .50 cents in plastic and wee bit of time.

Plus, I now have a new lesson to teach my automotive students!

New episode for the "How to Become a Gearhead" series is up! It's been a while since I've posted an automotive video and needed to put some new wiper blades on my vehicle so now I have a video for people who want to learn how to do this easily on ANY vehicle on the planet!!

Lots of extra tips in here too!

Sometimes the simple things aren't so simple for people still learning how to work on their car!
