Procedure at 7:30AM Tuesday - instructions say to start prep at 12 noon Monday, with the last dose 3-5 hours before the appointment (6:30am). Is that enough time to clear or should I start earlier Monday?

I would contact the office but hematology is who ordered this and I'm not sure who to contact in gastro to get answers. The paper is from the hospital itself with no information there or in the portal about who to call.

I'm just wondering if I should start prep a little bit earlier on Monday or if there's anything I should do differently. I usually go about once a day so I'm not majorly backed up that I'm aware of. However, I have traditionally taken a long time to react to laxatives, and I'm a little concerned I won't be completely cleaned out.

This is my first one, so I'm nervous about doing it right. Instructions say to take the Bisacodyl 4 tablets at noon. Then between 4 and 6PM to mix the Miralax with 64oz of my chosen approved drink and to drink 48oz of that over the next hour or two. Then they say finish the rest of it starting around 5 hours before the appointment (set for 6:30, procedure set for 7:30).

Considering my procedure is so early in the morning and my clear liquids fast is just Monday, is that enough time?

I am eating a beige/soft diet as I'm supposed to and am eating as lightly as I can so my body isn't totally shocked by the liquid fast.

Is there a comprehensive list of foods that are ok/not ok in the pre-prep days? Also, I picked up orange and lemon lime jello like my sheet said I could have, but noticed they have red dye and blue dye. What am I missing here?

Colo is next Tuesday.

My list they gave me is just a few examples of what I can eat, and what I should avoid and some of it contradicts what I'm finding online.

For example, my sheet says to avoid peanut butter and the only dairy product it allows is for skim milk, while other sources say creamy PB and dairy products are fine. My sheet also says I can have orange or lemon lime jello on prep day, but once I got home I checked the ingredients and they have dyes that are not allowed.

I do not do well fasting, even a juice fast where I keep my sugars up, so I was hoping the jello would help me feel like I ate something without eating something. Am I missing something?

I was hoping to be able to have cereal and milk (I use whole milk Lactaid) but don't want to do that with skim milk.

Is there a list out there that is comprehensive and not just an example of foods I should avoid? I have no real food restrictions other than not too much regular dairy.

What is the absolute best drink to use with Miralax? And what are the best drinks for the fast the day before?

38F and having a colonoscopy on July 7th because I have chronic anemia and we're trying to rule anything and everything out.

These are my instructions:

Bisacodyl: You will need to take 4 tablets (each tablet is 5 milligrams).

Miralax: Purchase 1 bottle of Miralax (238 grams).

You may want to buy an extra bottle in case more is needed.

Simethicone: You will need to take 3 tablets or chewables of 120-180 mg.

12 pm: take all 4 Bisacodyl tablets whole with water. For the rest of the day, you will want to stay near a toilet. You may have many bowel movements and diarrhea.

Between 4 pm and 6 pm:

 Take 3 simethicone tablets

Mix the entire bottle of Miralax (238 grams) into 64 ounces of sports drink (no purple, red or blue dye). Drink three-quarters (48 ounces) of the Miralax mixture today and the rest the morning of the procedure (see below).

  • Over 1-2 hours - drink one 8 oz glass of the mixture every 10-15 minutes - for a total of six 8 oz glasses.
  • The mixture may taste better refrigerated.

I am going to have to set alarms to do this because while I hydrate ok now, I have a really really hard time drinking a lot and I have ADHD so I'm not consistent with anything ever. I also do NOT do well fasting, but I will plan to just be at home for obvious reasons and hopefully I'll handle it ok.

I am most concerned about the Miralax. I have used it before and thankfully am not sensitive to it so I know I can take it fine. But I always mixed it into OJ which obviously I can't do.

So what is the best drink to mix it into to make it easier to go down?

Also, what drinks are best for the fast? I have no dietary restrictions. I tried chicken bone broth once and it made me want to vomit so maybe it was the brand I tried but it's turned me off from trying it. Also they say jello is one of the clear liquids I'm allowed to have, but with no blue, purple or red dyes - has anyone eaten jello and had it be ok?

Am I allowed to drink the white Gatorade (glacier cherry) even though it's not totally clear?

Man I just don't want to mess this up lol. I'm not nervous about the procedure, I just want to get the prep right. My procedure is 6:30am, so I will be staying up all night the night before and napping when I get home.

Thanks for any help.

What is the most reasonable, frugal way to replace carpet in a large 25x13 room?

TLDR: Don't have a lot of money but we had a cat that got sick and missed the boxes, have tried cleaning the carpets with multiple cleaners and smell is still faintly around. We are working towards a move away from this area and want to sell this house eventually, and I don't know if we should replace the carpet or leave it for the buyers to deal with since it's a handyman fixer house and they might not like what I put in. No subfloor, just stone and concrete underneath the current carpet and no money to put in a subfloor.

Long do read:

I am relatively low income at the moment due to an unfortunate life change that has lowered our income. We had a cat a couple of years ago who sadly got really sick with a kidney infection, allergies and other issues and while he tried to reach the boxes, didn't always make it. I did try to protect it with extra pee pads and rubber mats and everything, but it wasn't enough.

Now the carpet in our living room should really be replaced. We have cleaned it and the walls multiple times with multiple enzyme cleaners, replaced all the boxes, the furniture, everything and the smell is still faintly there. We are probably going to sell this house in the next couple of years, and I have two concerns...the first is that buyers won't want the house with the smell (for good reason) and the second is that I might spend a cool few grand that I don't really have on new flooring only for them to hate what I choose and tear it up and put down what they want.

Unfortunately, this house used to be a camp and the floor underneath the carpet is essentially a stone patio with no subfloor. The first picture I took before the previous owner (my grandfather) put carpet down. The second picture is after he had Home Depot install it. I cannot afford to put in a proper subfloor. It does look and function and feel like an ordinary room with the carpet on, but due to the inconsistencies in the (flat) stones and concrete underneath, I can't replace it with LVP like I'd like to.

The other aspect to this is that this is kind of a handyman fixer house, not a fixer upper really as it is very functional and has been quite updated, but still has some quirks and minor things that need to be updated and fixed. So selling it as such, I might get away with just leaving as is. It is not stained or in bad condition otherwise, but I just can't bear the thought of being an irresponsible former owner and selling it with the smell.

So all that said...being that this is such a large room that would cost a lot to re-floor, what are my reasonable options besides burning the place down? lol a lot of times that's what I want to do. The bedrooms off of this living room could also use the carpet replaced, this place has literally 9 different floorings in it and I'd like something somewhere in this house to be uniform for once.

What are your thoughts? Any suggestions or ideas about what I can do?

Purchasing unlocked Samsung Galaxy S26 - will Wifi calling work on Warp?

Just switched from Verizon and have a Galaxy S23+ that's unlocked but unfortunately does not work with WiFi calling. Apparently this is a known issue and the rep here said the only option is to switch to Light Speed, but Light Speed does not work well in our area, neither does Dark Star. The whole reason we were with Verizon was because their coverage was the best where we are. So we need to be on Warp.

I am considering, unfortunately, purchasing a Galaxy S26, unlocked from Amazon and I'm wondering if there's any way to guarantee Wi-Fi calling will work on it. I have to have Wi-Fi calling because there is no service at my house and the only way I can get calls is if I have Wi-Fi calling.

I know some people flash their phone with the different U but that's way above my pay grade and I don't feel up to trying it as I use this phone for business and don't want to mess anything up. I'm also not interested in Pixels or other phones. I love my Galaxys lol

Thanks for any help.

Switching from Verizon to US Mobile Warp - 2 lines, porting numbers

I've had a secondary phone on Warp for a while and we did a comparison and realized we should switch our main phones from Verizon to US Mobile.

Unfortunately, my husband has run into trouble trying to get his phone switched over. His phone requires a physical sim card, so it was sent and he went through the steps, including the PIN, and still had no luck. It keeps telling him his information is incorrect. He tried to contact customer service via email but they never responded.

My phone can do eSim, so we don't have a physical Sim for that. We have not tried moving my phone over yet.

Is there something we are missing? We would like to port our numbers over and would be on the Warp network. Thanks for any help!

Found in the wild. Raieyn.

This is a boy's name and he's a preteen. At first I thought it was Rae-ann until I realized it's a boy and it's "Reign". At least I think that's what it's supposed to be. Homeschooled so doesn't get harassed for it...yet.

EDIT: Comments suggest it's Ryan and I think they're right. What the heck!!

Sandal recommendation for 2E feet with skinny ankles - Crocs and Hoka Clifton 10 Xtra Wide are my daily wears

I have a wedding coming up but also, it is getting close to summer and I would like to invest in a couple of pairs of sandals - one for going on the beach and the other for a wedding later this year. The beach sandals are more important at the moment.

I could wear my crocs, but I am hoping to have something more aesthetically pleasing at the beach lol

I have considered the Crocs Brooklyn, but since the front straps are not adjustable, I have no way of knowing if they would fit me.

Preferences are a back strap, known wide front straps or adjustable front straps, and no thong between the big and second toe, just can't handle it lol.

I also would really like to be able to order from Amazon, but I know that might not be realistic. I won't be wearing them for a huge amount of hours at a time, more like casual wear and not too frequently. So I would be ok with a cheaper brand like FitVille. I have some mild arch pain, and my ankles are usually so skinny that they pop up out of ordinary sneakers. For whatever reason, Hoka Clifton 10 2E wides and ordinary crocs don't bother me.

Thanks for any help. I am not into fashion so usually don't care lol

I am waiting for a July appointment with a new Cardiologist but in the meantime my PCP ordered a CAM monitor for 2 weeks. The lady who put it on told me to press the button when I'm having an episode but she wasn't really able to define what an episode is.

For reference, I've had shortness of breath mostly correlated to my heart rate staying too high for too long. Sometimes the shortness of breath is without the heart rate being too high but it's weird. I've had an echo, pulmonary function test, blood tests, chest CT with contrast and have seen a pulmonologist. My lungs are great and my heart looked great on the echo. My PFT was good as well with the only thing noted that I was tachycardic for an extended period of time after walking.

So now we're thinking something with the heart. Lots of arrhythmia in my family so it makes sense. But how do I know when to press the button? I usually get a pretty high heart rate (120-130) just from walking around. Sometimes it stays high (over 100) for half an hour or longer after sitting down. Do I press it as soon as it seems high? Or when it's been too high for too long? My normal resting is 65-75. I'm mildly out of shape but used to being able to walk for hours a day without heart/breath issues so this is somewhat new. I just want to do this right so they get the info they need. TIA!

I want to start physically journaling as I seem to do better getting stuff out with that. I am considering getting a lap desk, the type that goes over your knees while sitting upright(ish) in bed so I can handwrite in a journal, but want to make sure that's the right thing for me before spending money on it.

I have seen the ones with pillows but I am worried I'll lose feeling in my legs but also will have to look down too much and it will strain my neck. That is one reason why I don't like doing it in my office. That and my office is, well, my office. I have an adjustable bed that I can sit up in. I just need a more natural writing angle and I'm not really sure what to get.

Usually buy from Amazon but willing to look elsewhere if you have better ideas.

TIA!
