Here’s a quick account of my experience:

Our cinema showed Sunny Dancer today in one of the smaller auditoriums (100 seats). The theater was approximately half full (40? 45?), which I’d ​​consider a positive sign given the summer holidays—when many families are away—and the hot weather that surely kept many people outdoors.

The film definitely deserves the many positive reviews it received prior to release. The audience—predominantly younger people (under 30) and families—clearly enjoyed the movie (the biggest laughs came during scenes with Ivy (Bella) and her parents, and with Ella (Ruby)) and remained quiet during the emotional moments.

Bella Ramsey was outstanding, Neil Patrick Harris in an unusually serious role—at least for many viewers—and Ruby delivered one of her best acting performances.

George Jaques has truly crafted a fantastic film here—one that will stay with you for a long time.

I hope, that many people will see this jewel.

P.S.: Naturally, I don't want to reveal anything about the plot or the ending, so as not to spoil it for anyone. Watch the movie yourselves.
