Is my monthly budget realistic?

My wife and I, along with our 3 month old, are in the process of looking for a flat to rent in London.

I wanted to ask if my budget is not only realistic but if I’m missing anything/capturing everything possible? I have excluded childcare for now, as I will have factored this in later down the line.

Just to note, it is part furnished and we have all the relevant furnishings we need. I will not be factoring this or moving costs as I’m just looking more for monthly expected costs once we have settled.

Rent- 2000
Council tax- 173 (calculated using latest borough rate)
Broadband- 35
Gas & Electric- 140
Water- 90
Groceries and household essentials- 400
Nappies and baby essentials- 100
Car insurance- 63 (calculated using latest annual cost)
Contents insurance- 25
Fuel- 100
Road tax/MOT/Maintenance- 75
Mobile- 15
Misc. subscriptions- 100

TOTAL- ~£3,316

Also, any tips to reduce any of the costs if possible?

Thanks!

Is my personal budget realistic?

Hey everyone,

Partner and I have a newborn son and are in the process of buying our first house.

Just wanted to ask if I have factored in all monthly essentials and if they are also realistic for a 3 bed semi in Barking and Dagenham?

Mortgage- 2000
Council tax- 163 (calculated using latest borough rate)
Broadband- 35
Gas & Electric- 200
Water- 90
Groceries and household essentials- 500 (likely less, but overestimating as may go above sometimes)
Nappies and baby essentials- 60
Car insurance- 63 (calculated using latest annual cost)
Home insurance- 25
Fuel- 100
Road tax/MOT/Maintenance- 75
Mobile- 15

Tribunal questions after MR for PIP rejected

Hi everyone,

So my mother has several heart related issues. She is on lifelong medications and is physically unable to do things she was previously able to do. Unfortunately, as she can’t read or write English very well and can’t really speak English properly, she relied upon me to apply for PIP. I put off applying on her behalf purely out of laziness.

She’s now had her application and MR rejected with no change in points awarded. We are planning to go to Tribunal but I just wanted to ask:

1- If I’m not her appointee, can I still speak for her on her behalf at the Tribunal provided she gives her consent to that? Or is this not allowed?

2- What does a Tribunal entail? As in, are there physical or cognitive tests, background screening etc etc. Just want to plan for the best chance of success.

Thanks!
