A deleted comment was so offensive that I'm angry I had to read it in my email notification. How do I report this if they deleted it???! (Someone told me my family history of cancer means I should do things to myself that would prevent me from having children to.... clean up.... my blood line. )
I mentioned that, at a Salem government meeting recently, someone brought a plastic "guillotine" that they hauled with a bike. I didn't advocate for its use. I didn't even say if I agreed or not. But now I'm banned from r/politics for "advocating for violence"...I just said some literal facts. It's probably for the best for my mental health anyway.
I got my jury summons in the mail a week after the date I should have replied by. Followed shortly by a threatening letter that I'd "skipped" jury duty. If Salem wants the mail to work, we're gonna need to fund it.
The reason: My local mailbox was vandalized. They stopped letting me pick up my mail at the post office 5 min away, and now require me to drive 30 minutes (assuming I have my own transportation), in one direction, to pick up my "daily" mail at the bigger office on the other side of town. That's not possible and I can mange the trek about once a week or so.
So.... what's the plan about official mail? Because this is not ok.
And how do I explain to the town what happened?! I didn't skip on purpose. I skipped because getting my mail is a hardship.

What's up with the cost of Statesman Journal?! $90 a year is a lot! I know 3 people (one of which had quite a career there) who have been let go over the last few years and zero people who still work there. It's moved now towards ads and "targeted" articles. Which makes me question the $90 price point more! Can anyone explain why I'd pay that?
