I don’t understand depop.

Kinda makes me feel like a boomer. I’m not, technically. I’m 44 tho so def unc status. Anyway..

I’m pretty successful on eBay. I sell about 2500 a month there easily when it’s slow. 4k when it’s popping. So I’m not trying to brag, but I understand the game.

I decided to cross-list some of my vintage and Y2K stuff on depop a while back. First of all, it seems like the app wants me to sell this stuff for super cheap.. literally suggested price for a shirt that sells on eBay for $40 is suggested to sell for like $7? Nevertheless I listed a bunch of quality stuff- supreme, vintage band tees, Nike, Jordan, etc.

Almost immediately the app indicated that there were hundreds of views but no one was buying. Well over the course of a couple of months almost all of that stuff sold on eBay for higher prices, meanwhile my depop account collected dust. I eventually just ended all of the listings there.

Someone explain to me how this app works, or does it?

Felt like I needed to

I know nothing about this series but I always see it online and never in person so I felt like I needed to grab these. The store literally had about 30. Why are these special?

Crab

Do people hate on Crab bc of the lyrics? In terms of melody and structure I have always thought it stood out as one of the best on the album.

Carrier scan variances USPS

First let me just say- my standard operating procedure is to print a label at home and wait in line for it to be scanned by a person.

For my first several months of doing eBay, I would choose the QR code option and print a label at the self-service kiosk, then just drop the package in the drop box next to the kiosk. This always worked like a charm. Within a couple of hours I would always, literally 100% of the time, get a notification from eBay that there had been a carrier scan.

Later, when I started doing real volume, the kiosk wasn’t a viable option since I’d be rolling up with 15 packages and I didn’t want to spend 30 min at the kiosk. That’s when I got my thermal printer and that’s when I noticed something weird.

As I said, SOP is: I package and label at home, then take to a live person at the post office and watch them scan everything. That said, there have been a couple of times when the line has been long and I’m in a hurry so I put the packages I labeled at home into the drop box. What I’ve noticed is, in those cases, it takes days to get a carrier scan. I don’t get it- self service kiosk label, scan within hours. Label I printed at home, Scan… eventually? Never same day. Why does this happen?

Lorne’s Weak Coffee Recipe

Disclaimer: If you wanna criticize this coffee recipe don’t drink it, it’s that simple. A lot of you have some really dumb things to say about a lot of really dumb things.

Lorne’s Weak Coffee Recipe

You gotta pour in the coffee, it’s up to four cups.

Take some Folgers, one scoop is the amount you put in for four cups.

(If you equal that out, it actually goes out to a tall cup or to 3.5 uh… scoops of coffee)

Take a little bit of sugar (a spoonful, about that much)

And a little bit of creamer (a spoonful as well, about that much)

Stir aaand drink.. and boy does that taste good!

Clothing measurements

I have always taken and displayed measurements for clothing items that I sell. I’ve done it because that’s what I’ve always thought you were supposed to do to be considered a professional seller. That said, I kind of get the feeling that buyers don’t look that closely at anything other than the title and first couple of pictures. So, I wanna know- do you all thinking taking and showing measurements really matters? Or is it enough to just put measurements available upon request in the description? What do you do for your listings? Thanks in advance.

Available for Pickup Problem

I’m looking for some advice from experienced eBay sellers.

I sold an item for about $50 and shipped it via USPS to the buyer’s PO Box. Tracking shows the package arrived at the buyer’s local post office and was scanned “Available for Pickup.”

The problem is that the buyer says they’ve gone to the post office multiple times and USPS can’t find the package. According to the buyer, the post office can see the tracking information but cannot physically locate the item.

The buyer has been polite and reasonable throughout the process and doesn’t seem to be trying to pull anything.

I’m planning to call the destination post office tomorrow to see if they can provide more information.

My question is: if USPS ultimately says they can’t find the package, how would you handle it as the seller?

Would you refund the buyer, wait for an eBay case, file an insurance claim first, or do something else?

Has anyone dealt with a package that was scanned “Available for Pickup” and then seemingly disappeared?

“He’s Bumblebee from the Transformers movie.”

While they’re chatting, Papi (formerly known as The Boss) tells the decoy that his car is “Bumblebee from the Transformers movie.” He even says he wants to get a Transformers decal to put on his ride.

Now, I’ve never seen the Transformers movie, but I thought Bumblebee was a Camaro? That’s not a Camaro. In the words of Colon, “Why are you a liar?”

Restaurant Recommendations Near San Antonio Airport?

A friend and former coworker of mine is coming to San Antonio for a business trip next week. I have not seen him in quite a while and I am looking forward to catching up with him. He is staying near the airport and wants to keep dinner somewhere reasonably close to his hotel.

Does anyone have recommendations for a good restaurant in that area? Looking for something in the mid-range price category. Not necessarily fine dining, but nicer than a casual chain. Open to pretty much any cuisine as long as the food and atmosphere are good for a couple of old friends catching up over dinner.

Thanks!

After losing faith.. it finally happened. Why we hunt.

I’ve found a few STHs since I started collecting, but it was always because I happened to catch someone stocking shelves. One time at my local grocery store a guy was putting out 3 fresh cases. Another time at Dollar General I asked an employee if I could stock a case myself. At Target, an employee literally handed me a box and said, “These are Hot Wheels too if you wanna have a look.”

Because of that, I kinda gave up on the dream of just walking up to the pegs and finding a Super sitting there.

Well… that changed today.

What a rush. My love for the hunt is officially back. 🔥🛞❤️

Traffic waves

I’m fairly new to reselling. About seven months in. I have about 230 items listed. Only on eBay.

It seems that my sales velocity occurs in waves. For instance last week was awesome. I sold about 6 items each day. One day I even did 10. I was like this is awesome. Maybe I finally got to a point where I have consistent sales.

Fast forward to this week. I had 2 sales Monday, 1 sale yesterday, nothing so far today.

My question is, does anyone else experience traffic/sales at this varied velocity. Would love to hear your experiences. Has anyone found out how to fix this so that it stays consistent?
