So I've been in Saltlake, nayapatti for a month or so and here is my apartment(rented)
It has bedroom, a kitched(quite big) and an attached bathroom
2nd pic was before the table was moved in
My rent is 10k/month food excluded
You can rate it if you want and also I'd love to have your suggestions on how to make it look better
The sub logo looks kinda stupid and unserious lmao and it would be great if moderator would change it to the original IEM branding since thats what most college subs have.
Its totally fine if people find it more suitable lol, just a request from my side.
Why is the iem_uem sub reddit so dead. The average likes in most of the important academic posts is 2-3, 10+ on a good day with only 900 weekly posts which although sounds good on paper but is really less. Also this sub feels too depressed for some reason😭.
Other college sub feels so lively like kiit or lpu. I've never seen a post about anything else other than academic bs here, and this genuinely saddens me cuz I've joined as a fresher this year and I'm already getting this dead vibe lmao.
So I'm in B4 freshers batch and the entire environment of the class feels so gloomy and dead, and i genuinely can't even think of making any new friends here. Moreover it feels NOTHING like a college at all.
I am fairly new to Kolkata(I'm bengali btw) so it just adds up and idk I just feel like isolating myself. The entire building gives a government hospital sort of vibe and the infra is just bad at its least.
Idk how long it will last like this or is it just because I had very high hopes but idk man..
If anyone feels the same feel free to contact cuz getting this sort of vibe from a college just affects the approach of a student a lot.
I'll be moving to Kolkata (Salt Lake) by the end of this month for college, and I was wondering if there are people here with similar interests when it comes to music, movies, shows, or gaming.
Please don't judge my choices 😭 I'm genuinely just looking to find people with common interests and make a few friends before I settle in.
Music: I'm a big fan of Linkin Park and Tame Impala.
Movies & Shows: My taste is pretty open, although I don't watch many rom-coms.
Some of my favorite story-driven experiences are:
Detroit: Become Human
Life Is Strange 2
The Walking Dead
Other games I've enjoyed:
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019)
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II 2022
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III 2023
Far Cry 4
Assassin's Creed Unity
Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered
Battlefield 1
The mainline Resident Evil games (except Requiem)
Forza Horizon 4
Death Stranding
Red Dead Redemption 2
Red Dead Redemption
Little nightmares
Silksong
Hollow knight
I'm also an Formula One fan. Not the type to make it my whole personality I just enjoy watching the races.
If you're into any of these things and wouldn't mind chatting or hanging out sometime, feel free to drop a comment or DM. Looking forward to meeting some fellow Kolkata folks!

I'm kind of confused in between which branch i should take
I've heard iem saltlake has a better reputation and brand value but again cse ds has more exposure in the placement sector
Please help me out
