I have a strange issue with my ASUS TUF A15.

When the laptop has been sitting on my legs for a long time, it works normally. But when I move it and put it down on the couch, it immediately restarts.

This happens every time under these conditions. It’s not a gradual shutdown or overheating — the restart happens immediately when I put it down.

Has anyone experienced something similar with a TUF A15? I’m wondering if it could be related to the laptop changing position or the chassis flexing somehow.

Any ideas what could cause this?

I've tried tons of different settings and even processed my videos through After Effects, Topaz AI, and HandBrake, but nothing helps. My videos still get compressed and end up looking low quality.

Can someone who actually knows tell me how to do it?

Which phase-change thermal paste and liquid thermal pads would you recommend for the ASUS TUF A15?

(Is it worth installing a heatsink or a thermal pad on the stock SSD, or is it better to leave it as it is?)

Also, does a cooling pad with fans actually help reduce temperatures? I've heard it helps some people but not others. I guess it depends on the ventilation openings on the bottom cover of the laptop.
