Happy For My State (Florida)
Really happy that Angie Nixon won, she was clearly the better candidate. I hope enough independents vote for her in the general election. Sad about Oliver Larkin though, he was definitely gaining attention here

Just moved to the area and my wife has never seen a rocket launch (only from the West Coast of Florida). There is a launch tomorrow night, where would be a good spot to see it? I’m assuming it won’t be packed because it’s not a NASA mission, but I’m debating a few places including Space View Park in Titusville and Jetty Park near Port Canaveral
My company offers a half match up to 6% contribution. My income is $45,000 a year. So at 6%, I contribute around $100 a paycheck and my company gives me $50. My company says it’s a good retirement plan, but I’ve seen other people who get a full company match. And with my income being low, and having $40,000 in consumer debt, it feels a bit discouraging. And I just started contributing at age 31. What do you think?
Florida ranks among the worst states for financial distress. To me, this is not surprising at all. Lower wages, higher cost of living. Insurance costs among the highest in the country. And job market is bleak compared to other areas. Is this surprising to anyone?
I’ve been debating this for a long time. I know some people own stocks and crypto, but where would you put most of your money? Crypto runs comes in waves, but will it overall be worth more 40-50 years from now? If Crypto is the future, wouldn’t it outpace stocks in terms of value? And I understand that some crypto is safer than others. So long term investing would be Bitcoin, Ethereum. Memecoins I doubt are good long term investments but I could be wrong.

Basically asking this, the minimum coverage (collision and comprehensive included because car is financed) and higher deductibles would save me $150 a month compared to going from $10,000 to $50,000 in Bodily Injury coverage and $10,000 to $100,000 in Property Liability. This would also include not having Uninsured Motorists Coverage compared to having the $25,000 UM limit. I know it would be nice to have better coverage, but saving $150 a month isn’t chump change. I should also include this is the cheapest quote I can find. All other insurance companies I’ve got quotes from were higher.
