I was able to acquire this community as a mod.

Seeing as it is called expert SEO, I would say that this should be a community for SEO experts.

The SEO and LocalSEO subreddits have people asking questions on those topics already.

I'm veering towards this being a community where SEO freelancers, agencies and professionals can askeachother for pointers.

A minimim requirement of 1 SEO customer. So a post should start with: "I have this customer that...."

Any objections?

There are no mods in this community.

I would like to grow this community.

I already mod 2 other SEO communities.

Backlink sellers can be relentless. Promises of a customer who wants to buy your links.

They will email you, WhatsApp you, call you... Every trick in the book.

Do not fall for their antics.

There are only 2 legitimate ways to get links approved by Google:

Exchange them, or buy and sell rel="sponsored" links.

I am pretty confident in my SEO abilities as it stands.

The next frontier is Google Ads.

Is there such a thing as "Mention SEO"?

I recently saw firsthand how reddit, facebook... mentions on other platforms and websites, without any backlinks, get mentioned in Google AI Overviews. Not listed in the AI Overviews, literally taking up all the space, coming accross as the authority on the matter.

I also just finished the YouTube interview between Edward Sturm and Charles Floate, where Charles makes the strong argument that backlinks matter less, not because they matter less, but because mentions now matter more, a lot more.

The dawn of a reddit mention ouranking your SEO customer's competitors is upon us, or, am I late to the party?

The domain has been going for a while, more than a year.

WordPress website that was recently redesigned by our company.

I can offer a link injection from indexed pages, no guest posting.

ahrefs DR is around 4 for and ahrefs traffic is around 10.

We manage the website as an asset so links can be created while we chat.

I am prepared to link to and from sites in the United States.

I am not an SEO vet, new to the game, 18 months in.

The SEO customers we have, I like to set up
agreements between our company and our customers. Formal.

On our agreements, I never specified reddit... what we can and cannot do/say on reddit. On behalf of customers, trying to get their name out there.

But in the last few months, reddit has become so prevelant in search results and especially AI Overviews, it's become a real reputational risk for us.

Consider that the reddit sub or post that you make for your customer, could outrank your customer's orgifinal post. A post they spent years trying to rank. They might not appreciate that your post that you made about them or their data, gets pushed out of AI Overviews because of your reddit post.

Learn from my mistakes, and make sure that what you are allowed to post about your customers and their content, is agreed upon in writing.

I have been made aware by several sub members that there are backlink sellers lurking in this sub, going into DMs to try to sell links.

This is not the idea of this subreddit, and will not be tolerated.

If anyone approaches you trying to sell links, please just message me their Reddit handle. I will ban the link seller immediately, and then the onus will be on them to prove the contrary.

Often, when speaking to linkers on Reddit, the topic of traffic comes up. As a decision whether they want a link from you or not. Linkers tend to judge your website based on how much traffic it gets.

They could even come across as cocky and arrogant, making claims such as "your website has no traffic". They go to sources like ahrefs and SEMRUSH, and will even send you a screenshot, to make their point.

I want this post to showcase that these linkers are ignorant, and, that their sources are not reliable, at all, so feel free to reference this post in any such discussions.

I did a bit of cleanup on my website and found many 404s.

I linked to companies in the past that had legit websites, but in the meantime, they moved pages around or closed shop without letting me know.

If you are a backlinker, I would urge you to do a little maintenance on this. Just make sure that the pages you are linking to, still exist, and, that the websites that are linking to you, still exist.

Feel free to mention any tools in the market that do this.

If anyone is prepared to link to my websites 1 way, I will build Looker Studio SEO reports in exchange.

GSC is powerful, but the granular data from the BigQuery Bulk Export is powerfuller.

BigQuery is not free, you (or I in this case) will pay per query, but, it handles large data volumes much better and you get more granular data.

You should be willing to give my account Owner (Unverified) access, as this is a requirement.

Looking for websites that would link to my website or my SEO customers' websites takes a lot of time. Literal hours. I am not talking about outreach, I am just talking about the filter between spam and legit.

This process cannot be automated. A human needs to do it. The human needs to get a feel for the website before making a decision. Do we want a link from this website, or not? And if so, where can I contact the website's owner?

My question is whether there are services that sell listings for legit websites, with the contact details published on the website, relevant to the supplied website.

As an example. I have a flooring customer in San Diego, and I want to analyze his competitors' backlink profiles and then reach out to the websites they already get links from.

The reason I ask is that I am in the process of training a Backlink Gap Analyst and want to know whether I have any competition.

I am not interested in a SaaS or a Python crawler I can code myself; I am interested in a service where one pays a human.

About a year ago, I started in the topic of backlinks, and around 6 months ago, on the topic of backlink exchange.
