The host only briefly asked Kristen about Janet during the interview. Kristen's responses touched upon how Janet feeds people's egos and (I'm paraphrasing) performs acts of service in order to endear herself to people or get them to forgive her.
This makes sooooo much sense given the time we saw Janet on VPR, sitting in the background sewing clothes for the main girlies, AND the fact that Scheana was her way into the group. Of course she would respond the best to someone stroking her ego and doing her endless favors. Sigh, if only Janet had stayed in the background.
It also makes complete sense in the context of what we have seen in Janet's recent interactions on The Valley. Kissing up to Zack. Asking Jesse & Lacy to go on a double date. The constant fawning over Michelle. None of it gives genuine friendship vibes. It is damage control and ally collection.
I am so intrigued! She seems to be ending the season in a good place with Michelle and Janet, but unclear on Brittany who she had some pretty harsh words for during the season. But I can't imagine Zack would be publicly calling her the MVP for going after Brittany. Maybe she just keep it polished and classy and was impressive in that regard.
I feel like Kristen has made it *crystal clear* at this point that she does not F with Janet, and the way that Lala is trying to manipulate her into being friends with Janet or forgiving her by leveraging Janet's SA experience is gross. Janet's obsession with talking about Danny is not the only reason people don't like or trust her. Framing that as the result of her trauma is irrelevant to the myriad of other reasons that Kristen wouldn't want to have Janet in her life.
Whether or not Janet's trauma is the underlying reason for her behavior last season, it doesn't change the fact that Janet has treated people like shit and taken pleasure in doing it, and is just flat out untrustworthy and miserable to be around. Kristen isn't trying to shove Danny & Nia down the throats of the people who hate them - why is Lala pushing her so hard to jump on the Janet redemption train? Just respect your friend's feelings and STFU.
For Kristen's sake, I hope Lala doesn't love her the way that she loved Ariana "dearly."
It has been in the works for a while now, but I've finally reached the point where everyone in the main cast on this show, with the exception of Zack & Lacy, is aggravating AF. In no particular order:
Michelle - no issue with her on the show currently, but in IRL - what the hell, Michelle? I was rooting for you! We were ALL rooting for you! You finally rid yourself of Jesse's toxic ass to the extent possible and you start dating Dr. Dre?!?! Are you letting that abusive POS around your child? This is truly an insane decision.
Danny - speaking of an abusive POS. The way he speaks to Nia is absolutely unacceptable. I wish that she would use her black belt to lay his ass out over and over until he sees the error of his ways and never mistreats her or anyone else again.
Nia - stop fighting your husband's battles! I understand that you know Lala and Janet will villainize him if he stands up for himself, but you need to let this play out. Even though he acts like a spoiled toddler, you treating him like one doesn't help anything. In fact it just makes it worse.
Janet - I saw someone else call her a vindictive parasite, and I don't think I can offer a better descriptor. The sneak peak for the next ep shows Kristen telling her that she doesn't like Janet because she likes to hurt people, and that is exactly it for me. This weirdo delights in causing pain and chaos, and she makes my skin crawl.
Brittany - Vindictive Parasite, Jr. While Janet is certainly the worst, Brittany was first and she still drives me nuts all these years later. No one is buying your southern belle sweetheart act any longer. You're a mean-spirited ahole and we've all known it for years now.
Lala - I have not been able to stand this transactional, opportunistic loser for many years, but she's really taking it to a whole new level. Temu Tupac is soulless, will flip on a dime at a producer's direction, and cares about nothing and no one but her paycheck. If Jasmine is going to be on this show, the least she could do as the sole Black woman is read Lala for filth over her blaccent and cultural appropriation.
Jasmine - who are you? What do you stand for? What do you believe? Next to nothing about what you say and do makes any sense and you're boring as hell. I know this is your umpteenth show, but I don't think reality TV is for you.
Jesse - he is coming off as fake and as much a production puppet as Lala this season. Stop forcing these stupid rehearsed conversations and just be real.
Kristen - I think I'll always have a soft spot for Kristen, but she's losing me. She's lying about stupid shit and being as irrational as back in her early VPR days. There's just next to nothing likeable about her this season, as much as I sympathize with her post-partum journey and dealing with Luke.
Luke - not even worth talking about. Go away.
Tom - Ho, why is you here?
Kristen & Brittany tried to rescue an opossum that had been attacked by a raccoon but the poor little guy didn’t make it 😭 As much as I don’t like Brittany, I have to love her for this.
PSA: opossums are wonderful for our eco-systems and are very unlikely to carry rabies because of their low body temperature, so if you ever encounter one in need, please try to help them like the girls did!
I rewatch the entire series all the time because it is my background show whenever I am cooking or home sick or just want to feel good. When I reach the end, I feel the need to immediately restart because I'm so saddened by Dorothy's good-bye to the girls. I can't watch the series finale and just leave it at that!
S3 is 90% a rehash of S2 and it needs to stop already.
Lala is the kind of woman who will bang another woman's BF and then after admitting it, tell that woman she needs to get over it.
Lala is the kind of woman who will hold a knife to another woman's throat and threaten to "cut a bitch."
Lala is the kind of woman who will pretend she doesn’t understand why another woman continues to live with her ex to protect the biggest investment she’s ever made, after pretending to support that woman and monetizing/capitalizing off her pain.
Lala is the kind of woman who will say she can't wait to bang another woman's husband once they divorce, then years later after becoming a close friend of that woman and stabbing her in the back, flirt with that ex-husband on national TV while crying about the loss of the friendship on her podcast.
Lala cares about Nia the same way she cared about all these other women. She is Erika Jayne 20 years younger - she DGAF about anyone but herself and she will never change.
The kind with the wife’s pictures turned to the wall?
I feel like this should be mandatory learning before even being cast on a Bravo show 😆
In the After Show, Michelle & Janet talk about how Michelle came to Jason & Janet crying and asking how much she was going to have to spend on an attorney because of the Cease & Desist she received from Lacy. Um, $0? Did you read the letter? A C&D is not a lawsuit, you are not being served - none of that. You just have to stop engaging in whatever behavior is described in the letter.
Now, if you believe you have a right to engage in that behavior or you have a vested interest in continuing to do so, then yeah, you’ll probably need to consult an attorney about your options. But if you’re just being asked to stop running your mouth about your ex’s GF - should be pretty easy, no?
I dunno - Michelle started off the season strong but she is really clicking. And she is clicking down.
EDIT: apologies that the title suggests anyone who doesn’t know what a C&D is is stupid - not what I was trying to say, but I can’t change it!
I cross-posted something positive here about Garcelle a couple days ago that included snarky comments about the remaining members of the FF5, but nothing in any way egregious or inappropriate. Also didn't violate the sub rules in any way. That post is still alive and well in r/BravoRealHousewives.
Reached out to the mod to ask why, and I was told it was removed because of low viewership/engagement and two complaints were received, so no other option but to remove. No other real option, really? Complaints/low engagement do not mandate removal. If the complaints were just that I was snarky about Dorit, Erika, and Kyle and positive about Garcelle, that's stupid and not grounds for removal, particularly in a sub that complains daily about censorship from the main one!
IMO, this is just because the mod hates Garcelle and will censor just like the main sub. There are plenty of other posts with low engagement that remain up in this sub as well as plenty that are far more critical of the other women than mine.
It was a fun experiment, but I'll be moving over to r/rhobeverlyhills. Ta!
I have to give Garcelle her flowers one more time. The way she saw the writing on the wall last year, noped out of the impending takedown season, and left the remaining members of the FF5 to self-implode was masterful. She got exactly what she wanted out of her tenure on the show, and her departure highlighted yet again that Erika has nothing left to contribute, that Dorit is truly the self-involved & privileged ahole Garcelle knew her to be, and that Kyle is a self-producing hypocrite and terrible friend to the other women on the cast. Chef's kiss!
P.S. I also have to say again (probably not for the last time): Justice for Marco Marco!
