OCPD and double standards
Is it just mine or this is typical for the diagnosis and maybe personality disorders in general?
Do you think that a more or less normal relationship with a family member with OCPD is possible?
reddit.comDo you think that OCPDers offend and disrespect others intentionally?
reddit.comDo your OCPDers need a lot of validation, reassurance and attention?
My OCPD relatives seem not to be able to self-regulate without all this.
Do OCPD people realise that their perception of themselves, people and situations is distorted and that they are very abusive when "punishing" innocent normal people for perceived (and highly exaggerated) "wrongdoings"?
I'm asking this question here, because such questions are expectedly banned in the OCPD group. The question is to diagnosed OCPDers and people who are close to such ones.
Do you think that OCPD people feel misunderstood, weird, ridiculed or somewhat excluded in more neurotypical groups?
My OCPDer tends to describe completely normal and tolerant people as "abusive" and "passive aggressive" and to be triggered by incredibly normal things and discussions. Do you think that this is only projection or there's something more going on in their minds?
Lack of enough awareness of OCPD in society despite the fact that this is the most common PD
Just sharing my thoughts that life would be much better for both OCPDers and their "loved ones" if there was at least as much awareness of this disorder as there is of narcissism. The term "OCPD abuse" should be introduced as well, since it has its unique nuances that can't be easily explained and even initially understood. A new YouTube/social media "psychology star" (of the rank of dr Ramani, Todd Grande or Sam Vaknin) with a channel dedicated mainly to OCPD + its effects on loved ones would be a huge milestone in this endeavor.
What happens when you directly hold your OCPDers accountable for their behaviour and disrespect?
Any changes and apologies ever? Or exactly the opposite + playing a victim + a smear campaign behind your back?
Differences in the OCPD brain
Do you know if there is a scannable neurological difference in their brains? When they are going through OCPD episodes, they seem to be wired differently and see the reality differently. It's scary.
What is the meaning behind OCPD tantrums and unnecessary snarky remarks? Do they really mean it?
Since the LovedbyOCPD was closed, I will ask this question here, hoping to see answers from people who are suffering from OCPD or their loved ones. I'm struggling to put up with such behaviors that start to feel like verbal abuse and aggression.
How do people with personality disorders perceive neurological people?
I'm trying to go into the shoes of my sibling with PD and understand how she views and perceives neurotypical people. She often reacts surprisingly and disproportionately to completely normal people, behaviors, emotions and situations and it seems that she misperceives what happens and people's intentions. I'm curious do you see the neurotypicals as weird or wrong in a certain way?
(My sibling has OCPD and histrionic tendencies)
Is it possible someone to have OCPD and Histrionic Personality Disorder at the same time?
My sibling has OCPD for sure, she is even officially diagnosed. However, she displays all listed symptoms of Histrionic Personality Disorder as well. The result is a very toxic mix of seemingly incompatible toxic (and somewhat abusive) traits that can provoke cognitive dissonance in the people close to her. Is there any real medication and fixing of all this or I must cut her off once and for all?
Side income in Zurich
I'm wondering if it is acceptable in Zurich to directly ask your neighbours if they need help with certain things against a humble sum of money. I mean things like cooking for them, cleaning their houses or windows, taking very good photos (without being a professional) and making creative photo sessions of them, some creative stuff, etc...
