I’ve started rebuilding my Chaos Cult army. Thanks to Army Painter contrasts, I got 10 models painted in a single evening! Painting a full 2k roster finally feels achievable.

Can I play Solar Auxilia without Leman Russ?
Hi everyone. I’m thinking about buying my first boxes sometime this summer. I don’t really like how Leman Russ tanks look visually, so I’m planning to give the ones from the starter sets to a friend. Also, in 40k the Imperial Guard often seems to be played around Leman Russes (I see them on tables all the time), and I’d like an excuse to field other Guard models instead.
Can I play without using Leman Russes at all? Our local players aren’t really focused on optimizing rosters, but at the same time there won’t be any obviously weak lists either. A lot of players have Spartans, and they all play Space Marines.
