Help upgrading elderly parent’s phone long distance

Hoping someone might have some ideas!

My elderly parent, who lives in another state, dropped their Verizon iPhone and broke it. The only thing currently working on it is voice calls (according to them).

They have asked me to help them get a new one through Verizon. But can’t remember their online password (bill is on auto-pay) and can’t use the phone to reset it.

Anyone have any ideas? If I go to a physical Verizon store by me can they assist? Or is there another way to handle? I am not an authorized user on the account, so parent would need a way to authenticate the transaction and have the phone shipped to them.

Going to where the parent is and handling on person is not an option, based on the parent’s preference for involvement.
