Tao Te Ching

Is it true that only copy of tao te ching was left in 19th century in qing library and if not for british translator , it would have been lost forever? If it is true, then why taoist sects across china do not have copies of it in the first place , considering it was so much important text for taoism ?

Huang-lao taoism

Was it similar to philosophical taoism , considering it was based on teachings of yellow emperor and lao tzu or it was something completely different?

Recluse

Were there any famous Taoist recluses in history? Did they left any literature (like poems, essays etc) behind? We have lot of buddhist recluses as example like Hanshan. Do we have any Taoist examples?

Buddhism

Do you think chinese buddhists were more closer to teachings of lao tzu , zhuangzi, lie zi etc than later taoist sects? Later era taoists were more obsessed with immortality , talisman, rituals etc while buddhists , esp Zen/Chan, felt more closer philosophical taoism in their writings and practices.

Filial piety and Neo-confucianism

There are lot of cases where parents are abusive and harm their children. Going far as refusing to accept their faults and blaming everything on them. How zhu xi and wang yangming dealt with this topic? Should children continue to obey their abusive parents or oppose them ?

Pure land

Is sukhavati real or illusion created in mind? On one side , there are people who says sukhavati or pure land is real and was created by amitabh buddha in order to save people from samsara. While on other side, we have buddhists from other schools who says there is sukhavati and it is just a technique created by Buddha so that inferior people could also achieve nirvana. So who is correct?
