Bogong moth resting on my first dahlia of the season. Far south coast NSW.
Was not there for long with the rain coming! Been delightful to see both the moths and the garden starting to show some colours.

Have a gallon freezer bag that's steadily getting filled up. Even with the birds helping themselves to whatever they want.
Yes, we put a blanket bed in front of the fire for her. 🩷
Was diagnosed with chronic autoimmune urticaria/angioedema about 11 years ago. That flare-up was managed with Zyrtec and eventually it disappeared.
This time I ain't as lucky. My days consist of taking 4 different medications, and treating the symptoms with pine tar baths and calamine lotion. Some days it works great, other days I wake up like this.
The hives are so aggressive that they leave bruises. Arms, legs, back, chest/stomach. Only thing not affected is my face - but then that gets angioedema. 🙃
Awaiting the immunologist appointment to hopefully get something a little more concrete than "well you have no allergies so it's autoimmune 🤷🏽"
She only has 4 teeth left, top premolars.
Looking for some pointers, this is the first year of veggie gardening and these are my first seeds. Got them on a heat mats, under Spider Farmer lights, they're about 3-4 weeks? Planted 5 seeds in each cell.
Are the lights low enough or do they need to come down?
I've been giving them very diluted 20/20/20 organic fertilizer 1-2 times a week, just mixed into water and sprayed on top. Only started doing this last week. Should I wait a bit longer?
We've been watering them every day with a spray bottle, but I'm always worried whether it's too little or too much.
There's a couple of cells in the middle where all the seedlings are limp. Will they bounce back or are they done?
I've started some more seeds of the varieties that didn't have a very good germination rate. Planning on planting them out in August in a raised garden bed.
The first two times, the addressee lodged an enquiry. Turns out it was stuck in a sorting loop, was intercepted and finally went back to Sydney. Cool. Address is for a Sydney suburb so surely it would be good now, right?
No. Because it fucking went to Melbourne AGAIN.
I don't fucking understand it. NSW postcodes start in 2, Victoria 3. The postage label was printed so there's no chance of handwriting misread. There IS no fucking suburb with the same name in Victoria. HOW has this happened again?
Both I and the addressee lodged complaints today which led to a second intercept later this afternoon and an escalation. And they want to increase the price to send parcels?
Maybe stop sending shit to Melbourne and back 3 times.
Bought 25 runners to put into a Greenstalk tower. We had ordered a soil mix from a local nursery but they're waiting on the compost so we put them in pots in the interim with a fruiting plant mix. All are outside under the cover of a carport.
24 others are very happy and strong. But this one is very droopy and skinny.
We've got grow lights for onion starts in the shed, so I've put this pot under the lights. Is there anything else I can do for this little one or is it a goner?
Sent a parcel from Bega to a suburb in Sydney. Clearly marked with the address, suburb, state and postcode, typed out so there's no misunderstanding of handwriting. It gets sent to a sorting facility in Sydney. Cool, the recipient should get it in a couple days from here. Simple, right?
Except the parcel goes to Melbourne. And then back to Sydney. Okay, whatever, *now* it'll get to the address, right?
Nope! It's back in Melbourne again.
Can someone fucking explain how this has happened TWICE? And what I can do about it? The app is useless and the website won't let me get into contact with someone because "the parcel isn't late".
Hey all. 33F, current weight is 185lbs, goal is 155.
I'm on the 1.7mg pen, so mid dosage. I had to back off from 2.4mg after I vomited. Injected yesterday morning and at dinner time had only eaten 500 calories with some nausea all afternoon. I decided to push through and force myself to eat dinner (I really, really didn't want to). It was 500 calories.
I feel like that was a massive mistake. 12 hours later, and I'm *still* feeling nauseous. I didn't end up vomiting, but it came close and the only relief I got was when laying on my left side.
I'm now scared to eat, and I have an 11 hour shift coming up. I've no idea what to do. Are there any non drowsy medications I can pick up at the drug store that are antiemetic?
Do I treat this nausea bout like food poisoning and only stick to bland food like toast and crackers? I assume it's at its worst at the start of the week...
Noticed this thing while pruning today and went WTF. Figured it's probably not best to keep it on the tree so off it came.
We bought a house with a 5m tall lemon tree. We originally were going to get rid of it, but have come around and decided to keep it.
It's got leaf miner damage on it which we've pruned off. There's also an orange that's heavily infested with scale. Got treatments for both and have given them a hearty feed with citrus/fruit fertiliser. Here's hoping they come around.
Hey all.
Been getting conflicting information about when to start and plant out onions. We're planning on starting them indoors under grow lights and then transplanting out to a raised garden bed once they're big enough. They are intermediate varieties.
We are in temperate zone, far south coast NSW. Been told to start them *NOW* and also been told to start towards the end of winter. The lowest average temperature is 5 degrees in the winter months.
Do I get them in the cells now or wait? We have almost everything ready to start, just missing a grow light. This will be our first veggie garden season and onions will be the first thing we start.
Started collecting 15 years ago, and celebrated when I thought I had gotten all the available Creator Models... Only to find out that subspecies and even rare species models were also released but were exclusive to Japan. 🫠
Imported them all and have kept up ever since, but for now here's just the Raths.
