Has anyone entered the Freewrite 500?

I submitted my short story for the contest, but never received a confirmation email. I'm nervous it hasn't gone through. Has anyone else submitted their story? Did you get an email?

cmd+[key] shortcuts on tourbox no longer recognized in Clip Studio Paint

I don't know what's up, but my Clip Studio Paint no longer recognizes any cmd+key combinations from my Tourbox. It's like CMD isn't registering; only the key that follows. Like, undo's CMD+Z won't work because only Z is recognized.

Has anyone encountered this? Were you able to fix it? I have a tight deadline and this has significantly slowed me down, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Elgato wavelink 2 frustrations

I have Wavelink 2 on my macbook. While I love the control it gives me over my voice/how I sound to others, I'm seriously considering uninstalling it completely.

I dislike that I have to control my volume through the app rather than my native controls, and that these two things don't communicate. I have to tell my mac, then wavelink, that I'm listening through my headphones. or my desktop speakers. or my macbook speakers. It's redundant. It's not the end of the world, but added on with my main frustrations, it feels pretty big.

When I disconnect from my desk setup and run purely on Mac's native speakers and mic? Wavelink cannot wrap its head around the change. Browser audio plays for 2 seconds, then dies. A discord message boops 4 times per message. No one can hear me on Slack, but Discord is fine. If I want to listen to music or a youtube video, I need to spend 10 minutes troubleshooting my audio every. damn. time.

When I connect back into my desk? That's another 10 minutes of troubleshooting. Why can't I hear anyone talking? Oh, my speakers are set to X, but Wavelink is set to Y and Z. Why do I sound like a chipmunk? Gotta reset the app. Why does everyone sound like robots? Gotta reset the app.

I'm sure some of this is user error, but that's another issue: elgato doesn't make any of this intuitive. Like, I'm sure if I never needed to disconnect my laptop from my desk setup, it'd be less annoying. But they didn't consider laptop users at all with the app, did they?

Anyway... I tagged this as technical help. What can I do, as a macbook user who doesn't stick to her desk all the time, to make Wavelink more of a streamlined experience? What can I do about the billion boops I receive every time 1 person sends me 1 message on discord? How do I get it to remember that my computer speakers are a thing? Is there a way to just disable wavelink completely when I'm not hooked to my mic, without losing my audio?

Am I better off uninstalling?

Weird Glitch: My sleep research was on a different island?

Not sure what to make of this.

I'm on Lapis this week, but when I logged in this morning, it had my sleep research on Amber Canyon. I thought maybe I'd missed a sleep research from last weekend (I was there last week), but the date was definitely for the 8th-9th. My dratini incense I placed the night before was returned to me since that can't be used on Amber Canyon, while my friend incense was absorbed so that didn't count toward my 7 incenses mission.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Hey everyone!

I have a client who needs me to make something they would like to have the ability to edit should the text change late stage. (Think like, an event program, or a brochure.)

Here is where I'm hesitant: I work in adobe illustrator, but they don't have the program or the design skill to navigate any changes. Text and the elements surrounding the text are sized such that it all works together, and if they make changes themselves, it runs the risk of breaking the layout. I have seen how they've edited things I made them in the past, and... well, it's uh, it's rough. (I believe they're running things through AI to make the changes they need right now and all I could think of the last time I saw this was, "look how they massacred my boy!")

Is Canva the answer? Should I create a template and draft up editing guidelines so they can do their best to follow them? They seem relatively familiar with the platform.

I'm also going to extend the offer of handling all of the text edits that come in, but I'm not sure how to word said offer yet without it coming across as dismissive of their request. I could definitely use some help there if you all have suggestions.
