Coincidence?

My girlfriend just gave birth to our first child and we just recieved the release forms. Just happened to look at the name of the guy who checked us in. Was listening to freeman and white pepper right before the hospital check in.

Phono pre amp question

I really want a Yamaha A-S301 amp for my setup but the nearest place I have to put the amp is approximately 10’ away from the turntable. I’m guessing this means I will have to buy a separate phono pre amp and can’t use the built in one on the Yamaha correct?

Good beginner setup?

I just restored a Technics sl-1500 and now want to build my first listening setup. My build plan for now is as follows: Technics sl-1500 with AT-Vm95e > Schitt mani 2 preamp > Fosi V3 GaN 48V amplifier > Polk ES15 speakers.

This is already over my original budget of $500 but I wanted to have good enough stuff to upgrade down the road. Listening space is approximately 11’x12’ and I don’t have much room for my turntable set up.

Also, at what point will it be worth upgrading the stylus to ML

For reference, the “nicest” setup I have used is an angels horn turntable and speaker set

Update: just scored some JBL L1s for $100 locally. Will the fosi amp be okay to run on vintage speakers?
