Tesamorelin allergic reaction — anyone tolerate HGH/somatropin instead?

Unfortunately, I seem to have developed a pretty significant allergic/hypersensitivity reaction to GH secretagogues, particularly tesamorelin. I’ve had widespread hives, flushing/itching and a pretty unpleasant systemic reaction, so I’ve decided I need to stay away from them.

I’m considering switching to actual HGH (somatropin/recombinant human growth hormone) instead.

I understand these aren’t the same compound or mechanism — tesamorelin is a GHRH analogue that stimulates your pituitary to release GH, whereas somatropin is GH itself.

Has anyone here had an allergic/hive-type reaction to tesamorelin or other GH secretagogues but then been completely fine using actual HGH/somatropin?
Or did you find that you reacted to HGH as well?
Particularly interested in hearing from anyone who has personally experienced this. Thanks.

Hair transplant whilst on TRT?

43M, considering a hair transplant while on TRT – will it actually hold up long term?

Looking for some real-world experiences from guys who’ve had a transplant while on TRT.

A bit of background:

43 years old
Started TRT recently (about 6 weeks ago)
Current dose is 105mg/week testosterone enanthate, injected daily sub-q
Strong family history of male pattern baldness
Already have thinning at the crown and some recession/thinning through the top, but I’m not completely bald
Hair loss has been progressing slowly over the last 10+ years, well before TRT

My concern is whether a hair transplant is worth doing if I’m going to be on TRT for the foreseeable future.

From my understanding, the transplanted hairs from the donor area are generally DHT-resistant and should survive, but the native hairs around them can continue to miniaturize and disappear. That could potentially leave me chasing additional procedures later.

A few questions:

Has anyone had a transplant while on TRT and maintained good results long term?
Did TRT noticeably accelerate your hair loss after starting?
Are you using finasteride (oral or topical), dutasteride, minoxidil, RU58841, etc. alongside the transplant?
If you refused to use finasteride, was the transplant still worth it?
Looking back, would you do the transplant again?

I’m trying to figure out whether I should:

Get a transplant now and manage things aggressively
Stabilize the hair loss first before considering surgery
Accept that TRT and a transplant may not be the best combination without some form of DHT management

Would love to hear from anyone who’s actually been in a similar situation, especially guys on long-term TRT.

Preventing hair loss on trt

Looking for some feedback on a hair-loss prevention protocol while on TRT.

Background: 43M, recently started TRT (105 mg/week testosterone enanthate, daily sub-q injections). I already have some existing male pattern hair loss (mainly crown thinning) and I’m trying to be as proactive as possible without using oral finasteride.

Current plan:

• Nizoral 2% (ketoconazole) shampoo 2–4x per week
• Topical RU58841 5% + Minoxidil 5% once daily
• Weekly microneedling with a 1.0 mm White Lotus dermastamp
• Topical GHK-Cu daily

My thinking is:

* RU58841 to block androgen activity locally at the follicle
* Minoxidil for growth stimulation
* Ketoconazole for scalp health and possible mild anti-androgen effects
* Microneedling to enhance growth factor signalling and potentially improve topical absorption
* GHK-Cu for follicle health, wound healing, and regeneration

I’m deliberately trying to avoid oral finasteride/dutasteride due to concerns about systemic side effects.

For those with experience managing hair loss on TRT:

  1. Does this seem like a solid protocol?
  2. Would you add, remove, or change anything?
  3. Has anyone had success maintaining hair with RU58841 without finasteride?
  4. Any concerns about combining microneedling with RU/Minoxidil?

Interested in both the science and real-world experiences.

Thanks.

TRT daily SubQ (105mg/week) – 17 days in and not feeling much. Normal?

Just looking to hear other people’s experiences.
I’m 43, training 5–6 days per week, lean (around 10–12% body fat), eating well, hydrating well, sleeping reasonably well, and I’ve recently started TRT.

Current protocol:
Testosterone Enanthate
105mg/week total
Daily SubQ injections
MCT oil carrier
Currently day 17

Before TRT my total T wasn’t terrible (around 18–19 nmol/L), but my free T was on the lower side due to higher SHBG, and I was dealing with:

-Lower libido
-Mild ED
-Lower motivation/drive
-Lower energy than I’d like

So far I haven’t really noticed much.
I’ve maybe had:
-Slight increase in sexual thoughts
-One noticeably stronger erection
That’s about it

What I haven’t noticed is:
-Better energy
-Better motivation
-Better gym performance
-Better sense of wellbeing
I keep reading posts where people say they felt amazing within the first couple of weeks, whereas I feel pretty much the same.

For those of you running daily SubQ:

-Did it take longer to notice benefits?
-Did daily SubQ seem slower compared with less frequent injections?
-When did libido, energy and motivation really start improving for you?

Just interested in hearing real-world experiences from people who started with similar numbers and a similar protocol. Thanks.
