I’ve never owned an EV before and I’m looking for one mainly for my wife to commute to work, with around 5–6 road trips a year.
We can install a home charger, and we’d expect to drive around 12,000–15,000 miles per year.
Our budget is £14k–£17k. We’re looking for something that’s reliable, inexpensive to maintain, and offers good value for money.
Any recommendations or advice for a first-time EV owner would be greatly appreciated!

I have a system boiler with a cold water tank in the loft. Can I install a washing machine downstairs if its water supply comes from the loft tank rather than directly from the mains?

II’m new to system design. I have around 6 years of software engineering experience, but when I last interviewed for a job, system design interviews weren’t nearly as common. (Never interviewed in faang)
Do most companies include a system design round now?
Also, is there a good place where I can learn system design from scratch?

I have 6+ years of experience as a .NET backend software engineer. Unfortunately, my previous role was made redundant about three months ago (worked here for 3 years) and I still haven’t been able to secure a new position.
I’m based in the South East of England. I’ve had 3–4 interviews so far, but nothing has led to an offer.
Does anyone have any advice on improving my chances in the current market? Any tips or insights would be greatly appreciated.
