Cajun/Creole/New Orleans cookbooks for weeknight dinners?

Can anyone recommend a (or several) cookbooks that lend themselves to being used in a modern, not in New Orleans, kitchen? I liked reading Mosquito Supper Club and Isaac Toupes’ book, but I don’t see myself actually using them.

Best expat health insurance for young-ish retirees?

Hello -

What have people found to be the best health insurance plans? We are 55 (F) and 56 (M). Likely 10 months out f the year in Taiwan (we qualify for their excellent national coverage) and part of the year in the US, with at least a trip or two in the middle to other countries. Westy

Linus Roadster 7 vs. Surly Preamble?

Hello - Looking for a sturdy way to get around a relatively flat town. Reliability and comfort are more important than speed. May attach some lights and simple racks. I like the way steel feels and rides, and these seem to both be legit.

Perfect white pocket T -shirt with scalloped short sleeves?

I am looking for the perfect white t-shirt…for me. I like the look of 1950’s shirts with shorter sleeves and an almost scalloped finish at the end. Barking Irons is close, but not quite it - and lack a pocket, making them look like undershirts.

Paul Smith jeans authentic?

Should have combined this with an earlier post. Given how $$ his jeans are new, these seem awfully inexpensive

Suede porkpie hat?

Where can I find a great suede porkpie hat? Preferably dark grey or black. Saw one in pigskin that looked good, but now I can’t seem to find it. All the ones I can seem to find online are felt (maybe okay if it is well-made) but look cheap. TIA

LA Bruket: Blixt?

I like their skincare lines very much. Wondering if anyone tried their fragrances. A little pricy.

Hello - Trying to pick the better camera for B&W travel and street photography. Leica is just too expensive. Need a good quality and durable (I travel abroad often) companion.

(1) Budget, country, and currency: Trying to keep it under USD$3000. Live in the US but travel often. US currency

(2) What equipment, if any, you have now and why is it no longer meeting your needs? Currently just my iPhone with the Argentum app. The existing arrangment is pretty limited in terms of being able to precisely create the image I am trying for.

(3) What kinds of subjects do you intend to shoot? Mostly old architecture, some landscapes, and street pictures (portraits of people).

(4) Is it primarily for photography, videography, or both? Almost exclusively photography.

I’d like to replicate (for way less) those tins of tuna with beans and corn salad. I figure I can make a batch of the beans and whatnot just add it a bowl with vinaigrette snd and a tuna packet. Anyone tried this? What ratios and dressings worked?
