PSA - don't rely on the INVERT DIRECTION setting in mechanical parts, it sometimes doesn't work.

I figured out the issue is parts added with symmetry don't work when inverted, it's a known bug that apparently is not fixed by 'KSP community fixes' mod.

I wanted it inverted such that the KAL inputs would be identical and the tracks could be copied, unfortunately the solution is: 'do not use invert' - and make the KAL tracks and movement limits appropriately.

At the end you can see why it's important I use 2 servos, it doubles the available torque to increase control authority, but more importantly it adds reinforcement, confining the pod movement to one axis, where before it was flopping about as if connected by a ball joint, not a pivot.

Found butterfly in bucket. I believe it was stuck and is exhausted.

They are being super passive and climbs into my finger when I move in front of him. They haven’t done much but seems to be able to walk fine when needed. I’ve put him on a few different flowers but I’m really not sure what to do with my new pet butterfly. (Joking but that’s how they’re acting)

Minmus Base Alpha, fully self sufficient with USI life support, and habitation.

A fully self sufficient base in USI system to allow kerbals to live here indefinitely. Food, water, habitation and permanent living. As well the maintenance on the equipment. There's ample fuel stores and production. Hoses to refuel rockets.

It was built in several launches. Though I'm considering landing it in one piece at Duna to avoid assembly under Duna's gravity.

It's all one piece including the solar panels and the fuel tanks. They would be connected by underground pipes and wires, but instead rely on far offsetting (shift) in the assembly building.

The sections are permanently attached by weldable docking ports that create a connection like the hanger or VAB can. A mod called USI Konstruction offers these weldable ports.

It's around 500 parts and takes forever to load into in game.

Most parts are from USI MKS (modular kolonization system)

6X6 Rover on Minmus

6X6 Rover, can reach speeds above 50 m/s. Handles 2X and 3X time warp quite well. 296 parts. 10.5 tons.

Anyone else made the drive to the north pole?

It was not easy. It took many hours. So many quickloads.

I used mechjeb auto pilot for most of the journey.

The Kerbals needed to have shift changes, as I run USI life support and they didn't want to camp out of the truck for months while I ran other missions to thwart the boredom.
I also needed to restock their supplies using a KAS hose.

Most areas the MechJeb Rover autopilot handled well, but for the steep accents I had to manually drive switchbacks. On the steepest hills, I'd switchback in reverse since turning around was unsafe.

I had incredible luck with my route, never having to significantly backtrack due to impassable terrain.

Using EVA construction I was able to repair minor damages with parts from the resupply plane, but I had many bad wrecks requiring a quickload. Though no Kerbals were ever injured during crashes.

Under the hood is 8 modded RTGs each outputting 2 ec/s.

Minmus Relay Tower - Overlooking Minmus Alpha Base

23° North of the equator sits Minmus Alpha Base. A tall antenna tower overlooks the flats the base is built in, allow rovers and crew easy and reliable communication. A Minmus stationary satellite orbits continuously overhead, with a 9 satellite constellation to pass signals around Minmus.

Fully Stock Hyper Drive using KAL-1000

All critical functions are stock parts. No cheats are used, except the KAL-1000 exploit to set values out of bounds.

Still ironing out all the safety limits.

Could reduce Jool transfer time to at least under a year. ;)

Trash or Scrap?

  1. Pex-B with brass fittings?

  2. Copper Pipe connected Pex-B?

  3. All Brass Valves?

I have a pex-b crimp cutter, just not sure it’s remotely worth cutting this up.
