Triggered by socks

I have fibromyalgia and I’ve realized recently that I absolutely cannot tolerate tight socks. By the end of the day, I feel like someone has been trying to pull my toenails out with pliers, and then the aching pain keeps me up and a lack of sleep sends me into a spiral for days.

I’ve been wearing wide toe box shoes but it absolutely doesn’t help if you wear tight socks. Can anyone recommend a brand of socks that are affordable and not too tight on your toes? Do diabetic socks work?

Any help is appreciated!

Tests are negative

Hello everybody- I’m 44(f). I have joint pain in both hands that’s worst in the morning upon waking. Some days it’s no big deal and others, like today, I wake up cussing like a sailor. Testing for rheumatoid factors shows nothing, though I’m told that can happen early on with rheumatoid arthritis? There’s also no indication I’m going through perimenopause yet.

If you have any suggestions for tests I should ask for, questions I should ask my doctor, or any other advice, I’d appreciate it. This hurts like a bitch.

Does anyone else have the urge to return to their ancestral homeland?

For context, I’m an American. And while things are a shit-show here, that’s not the only reason I want to leave. I think a lot about the cultural wasteland that is whiteness here in the states, and as an adult with hardly any living family- and none from the generations before me, it genuinely hurts to feel so disconnected from my roots and the culture that my great great grandparents had. I’m aware that colonialism deprived native peoples even in Ireland/Scotland of their culture, and that what I’m feeling may not be so different there, but I just…want to go. Does anyone else feel this way? Has anyone followed that urge and been disappointed? I would appreciate people’s perspectives.
