Frustrating lack of bonus content

I honestly started listening to this podcast 5 years ago because of Britainology; I'd just immigrated here from the US and it was actually really helpful learning a lot of cultural touch points my friends or coworkers used.

It seems though a lot of the bonus content sold on the patreon tiers is just gone now though? No Britainology since January (with two episodes per month advertised on the tier), no left on read in who knows how long; the only semi regular thing I can think of is BIWF (which isn't my thing).

Just wondering if the patreon is even worth it at this point, which is a shame.

Advice on avoiding flakey artists

I’m honestly worried this is just the industry standard now. My last three appointments, three different artists, three different shops, in two countries. All with 4.8+ ratings on Google.

Two of them were an hour late to the appointment so nearly two hours late getting started; one of those just fucked off to the shop for 20 minutes while the stencil dried.

Today I arrived and they hadn’t put me on the schedule at all after 6 weeks of communication and confirming a week ago as I was visiting my home country so had a limited window. Place was recommended by my dad and my brother. Was told that they could “probably” get it done today if I came back in an hour as they were halfway thru a walk-in. I just left.

Is this just how it is now? My first ten or so tattoos the artist was ready to go when I got there and it’s really disheartening that they’re just willing to waste your time now.

Do you give your neighbours a BBQ warning?

Scenario: it’s a sunny Saturday. Your bbq is prepped. Your bits of dead animals are seasoned. Your obligatory veggie side is ready to be ignored. Your crisps are in bowls. You’ve got a case of a medium fancy beer.

You march out with your bottle of lighter fluid, emotionally prepared to say goodbye to your eyebrows. But over the fence you spy your neighbor has already commenced the other traditional sunny day activity: hanging up every duvet cover they own on the line.

Do you wander next door to give them a heads up that their bedding is about to smell like slightly overdone hamburger? Or has fate forsaken them this day?
