Basing question

Ok as I don’t feel like rebasing everything again to go back to The Old World I got these from mini wargaming forge. I’m just wanting to check with the community if this is the current size.

I remember them being on smaller bases so I just wanted to make sure it’s the correct size. If they are I know I’ll paint them up.

Thank you

Long Beard question

I started back in 5th edition (the bretonnia va lizardmen box) with my lovely Dawi. And until the edition right before the end time the dwarfs only got one real update with nothing buffing us from each edition rules wise.

Magic being more unstoppable every year, our war machines not able do any real damage before the lines clash, everyone else getting bonus attacks or attacks that even ignore even gromril. Even gobi warlords were better fighters because magic item were better than runic items.

All this to say I still have my Dwarf collection and with the old world gaining good traction and reviews do my dwarfs stand an equal chance vs everyone else without using loaded dice or sacrificing my first born?

What to learn next?

I have played an assortment of the lords but the gameplay (mostly battles) didn’t really click until I played Kislev. I really enjoyed the flexibility of the infantry units and the focus of the few schools of magic.

What should I try next? Google AI says Franz, the Cathay dragon lady or the starter high elf guy (no I can’t spell their names) but I also know that those three are just the basic suggested starter fractions for the game.

I’ve played Gor-Rok and found that if I focus on the rats the dark elves beat me and if I focus on the dark elves Skarbrand or Harkon beats me after I get rid of the rats.

The need for Cathay peasant armies to fight in all the different hotspots until I get a strong economy going because the caravan system stops being useful around turn 15 just feels off.

Wulfrik was fun but I wasn’t grasping the idols system.

And chaos dwarfs was fun until I hit the problem of all my armies were the same (some orc laborers, 12 hobgoblin archers, and some war machines or other dwarf units).

If I can be given some good advice, that’s not a popular YouTube video I would be very grateful.
