Playing as Karl Franz and all but one of the other empire factions has fallen. How screwed is this campaign? I might not be able to stem the tide of chaos.

Sylvania has been the ruin of us all. Many turns ago I was about to go to war with them when they were growing large but then Wulfrik declared war on me

What faction do you want dlc for, that absolutely doesn’t need it?

With CA’s favorites Empire and Skaven each getting yet another legendary lord what other factions need their equal attention cakes?

My answer (which as usual is the reason I’m asking) is Greenskins. While in a much better spot than many factions, I still want Rotgut to get Black Crag after three games and bespoke mechanics for Grimgor and Azhag. That and the orc side of the roster could use a shot in the arm, particularly the humble orc boyz.

Silliest army stack?

What's the silliest, most lore-breaking, obnoxious late-game composition you've found yourself with in a campaign?

Running the ally cap increase mod, I'm currently running this as Heralds of Ariel:

- Sisters of Twilight

- Ariel

- Legendary ancient treeman hero

- Treeman

- 3x Waywatchers

- 2x Sister of Thorn

- 3x Giant Eagle Riders

- RoR Zoats

- Zoats

- High Elf White Lion Chariots

- Marienburg Land Ship

- Ogre Maneaters w/ogre pistols

- 2x Cathayan Iron Claw Tiger Warriors

20th slot TBD - I'm hoping to ally with some of the Lizardmen to make it even more stupid.

How are these hammerers and ironbreakers 1 turn global recruitments?

There must be at least 3 instances causing -1 turn for global recruitment of them somewhere on the map (maybe), but the only one I can find is belegar's skill line.

You are the only one who gets me Serra

I recently realized that despite you being encouraged to be liked by the high elves at some point(even after you destroy all but one settlement) their friendly dialouge doesnt really work well with N'Kari at all.

I repeatadly opened the diplomacy tab with this guy and everything he said was nonsensical. He even said he was glad to see a friendly face... N'Kari is the so called "friendly face"

EDIT: I just noticed my strength rank at this moment is Slaanesh approved.

Need help choosing a lord to play in a game with a friend

I'm a relatively new player to all total war games after not playing them for a while so tend to struggle a a little bit and want reccomendations for either an easy or fun lord to play.

In terms of dlc I have all skaven dlc, Thrones of Decay, Shadows of change, Chaos dwarves, tomb kings and chaos warriors, I am however up to buying other dlc if there is a lord someone suggests tat seems cool. For example I heard volkmar is decent for beginners and have considered getting him

What to learn next?

I have played an assortment of the lords but the gameplay (mostly battles) didn’t really click until I played Kislev. I really enjoyed the flexibility of the infantry units and the focus of the few schools of magic.

What should I try next? Google AI says Franz, the Cathay dragon lady or the starter high elf guy (no I can’t spell their names) but I also know that those three are just the basic suggested starter fractions for the game.

I’ve played Gor-Rok and found that if I focus on the rats the dark elves beat me and if I focus on the dark elves Skarbrand or Harkon beats me after I get rid of the rats.

The need for Cathay peasant armies to fight in all the different hotspots until I get a strong economy going because the caravan system stops being useful around turn 15 just feels off.

Wulfrik was fun but I wasn’t grasping the idols system.

And chaos dwarfs was fun until I hit the problem of all my armies were the same (some orc laborers, 12 hobgoblin archers, and some war machines or other dwarf units).

If I can be given some good advice, that’s not a popular YouTube video I would be very grateful.

Newbie Question involving bug

Alarielle- she won't move! She is stuck, I don't have the option to even move her around the starting area. No advisor windows or loose pop-ups. She just won't move! Tried verifying files, about to roll-back updates to see if that changes anything. Help! Elves!

Should I buy base game warhammer II or dlcs I like?

Hi, I'm having a hard time deciding between buying the Warhammer II base game or the DLCs I want. I already own Warhammer III & I, and I'm not really a fan of the Warhammer II factions.

Besides the factions, what does Warhammer II offer? Would you recommend buying the base game or the DLCs instead?

how much can you get away with in total war warhammer 3 on normal difficulty?

im new and on my second campaign (technically third i did complete the prologue) and i apparently played the political game very well, because i confederated with someone and ended up with two maybe three times as much territory and a stack and a half worth of army. i went from 5k gold a turn to 2.5k gold a turn in a single diplomatic action.

conventional wisdom and everything i can find online says i should disband the armies or at least cut them down but.... i dont really want to. that just sounds boring.

i understand ultimately this is a game about making smart economic decisions, im not saying i should be able to do literally whatever i want, but i also want to have fun and i just got two new armies to play around and crusade with and optimal just doesent seem fun here.

i kind of want to see how far i can push it by making more armies and just seeing what happens.

full stacking armies at least to me just seems intuitive. i dont really know how else you would dominate the world if that was your victory goal without having tons of armies to lead.

Can i get an explaination on why Thorgrim is considered hard to start?

So like idk if i just got lucky, but i had a really smooth sailing with him, i heard the empire being close is an issue, but like they arent *that* close? and you can make friends with them, plus its temperate climate there anyways, the other thing i could see being an issue is the ogres, but i just made friends with them as well, granted at some point i went to war with them to take a couple settlements they owned and i needed, but i made a peace pact with them after so yea. From then its just a mtter of defending and building up base infrastructure and after the first deeps location its basically over, confederate dwarfs around me with money, talking or book of grudges and it really gets going, i think i have a deeps location fully built in each major place i own, all my settlements are built up, and i have an income of 150k~ at around turn 80 (game isnt infront of me so i cant recall somewhere between 80-90) all my researches take a single turn, most of Order and even some of Chaos is my friend (non aggression pact, defensive/military allience, i mean even the dark elves lol), anyone who didnt want to become my friend i eother killed or payed off, at some point i bought military allience with a random faction that was next to the last building of a some undead faction i was killing, just so i could make them take them out and so i wouldnt have to walk there lol, so yea did i get lucky, or

How the hell do you counter the Skaven nuke?

I’m having my first battles with the Skaven as the High Elves, and every single time I try to fight them I get most of my ranged units wiped out by that nuke ability. I keep trying to keep my eyes open and move my troops out of the way when it pops up, but they’re too goddamn slow. I’m not even keeping them close together! This is so frustrating, and every single goddamn Skaven army has it. My friend told me it was just Ikit Claw who has it.

Confederating the high elves, when?

I am playing Tyrion difficulty hard/very hard. First time playing HE, third campaign overall. Won the other two past domination.

It is turn 33.

The donut is secured by myself, Avelorn, and Etherion. Elyrion are still allive but slaanesh touched. Nagarythe are doing fine up north fighting Tomb kings. I wonder how arrows affect skeletons though. Just a thought.

I have the victory conditions to confederate Caledor but my economy is barely enough for me to build my third army. It is slow compared to Kislev as I am not looting settlements and it takes a while to get to enemy settlements. Now that the donut is secured, it will be even slower.

The problem is that I can't even see what Imrik is doing of course. Will I be rescuing his one remaining army or will he immediately bankrupt me and force me to disband all this armies except 1 and doom him to defeat.

Does anybody just confederate him and bring him home and forget trying to hold his lands?

I don't mind saving his confederation for later as I am just getting used to a new faction and lord mechanics. And the game is easy so far. Don't really need more firepower. Need more gold.

How do people usually play confederation?
