Do most Americans have those huge fridges?

Like in the movies every house has this giant fridge with two doors and a freezer. You could fit a week's worth of food there, and sometimes there's another one like in a garage. Do you prep meals a lot or maybe just don't shop every day, like maybe shops close on weekends so you have to stock up on food?

My first rangefinder

Zorki 1 with industar 61 ld. I love it! I feel so stupid for clinging to SLRs. Only had it for half a day though, any pitfalls i should know? (I read the manual so i know about not changing the shutter speed before priming the shutter, switching from 500 to z etc) Also have anyone tried making a strap for it? The leather case looks ugly, and mine didn't have one anyways.

Carbon doesn't filter but rather absorbs the contaminant, so how could a 1mm thick layer have enough time to absorb any contamination. Also with just a few grams of carbon l, how fast would it get saturated?
