Is Cancelling Membership Easy?

I am going to be moving within the next year and want to start my fitness journey by using their treadmill and stepper machine.

There is one very close to where I live and I planned on signing up to the location specific one ($26) with my credit card. I figure if they make it difficult to cancel, I can just change my credit card number.

But is cancelling easy?

Paper Application Submission Date

I filed my DACA renewal via paper (dumb decision, would recommend filing online) and sent it off via USPS priority shipping to Chicago lockbox from NYC on May 16th, 2026.

I kept tracking the package and saw that it was received (and signed for on May 19th).

Later on that week, I got a text message with my receipt numbers for the 821D and 765 Forms on May 22nd as well as paper receipts acknowledging the payment went through from my credit cards and my biometrics notice (which I rescheduled to do it earlier on June 8th).

I've been using May 22nd as the official date where I "submitted" my application. Just wanted confirmation if that is correct or if it's May 19th.

Immigration Attorney Recommendations

Hi,

Given all the ICE raids, I want to be safe and retain a private immigration attorney for myself and family.

Does anyone here have any recommendations for immigration attorneys they like/know about?

Thank you!

Edited: Specifically that can help people get out of removal and detention proceedings. Like if someone got detained by ICE without a warrant.

How to find an attorney

I live in NYC and unfortunately, lots of raids here (especially in Queens).

I know my rights and I am making my safety plan but I know everyone says have your attorney's number memorized.

Does anyone know how that process works?

People keep saying get an attorney but since my record is clean, I've never needed to consult one (aside from reviewing my DACA renewals).

I love my cat

I love my cat. So much.

I got her on the last day of April and the adoption center was waiving the adoption fee for the entire month (not that the fee was that high to begin with but still appreciated).

She's a 3 year old spayed American Short Hair and my god, does she get into trouble.

So far, she's gotten stuck on sticky rat traps (they've been moved to the far FAR back of the closets), gave me gashes on my left-hand, and cost me so much money.

However, she is the best thing that America has given me and yes - I am including my undergraduate degree that I don't have to pay student loans on.

If you're thinking, Whole_Marsupial_5783, what does this have to do with this DACA sub?

Fair question.

She is literally one of the few joys of this admin. I love how she sleeps behind my legs because she feels safe there and how she jogs up to me when I show her my hand to ram into it so I can pet her. And how I'm walking outside (with a stroller) and getting better mental health (and her stimulation) because of her.

Even when she gets into trouble, it gives me a moment to focus on the present and not on everything around me that I can't control. It gives me the brief respite of being a normal person with normal people problems.

And that's why, I love my cat.

Don't Call USCIS on Mondays

I've been calling into USCIS number regularly and an agent today told me to never call on Mondays because it's their busiest days.

Even if you say INFOPASS, you will still wait 3-4 hours on hold to talk to an agent. I can confirm this because when I called (800)-375-5283 at 11 AM EST, I was on hold for 3 hours and 12 minutes.

If you must call them on Mondays, do it at 9 AM EST before things pick up.

Generally, I try to call either 9 AM for any weekday or 5/6 PM EST for all weekdays minus Mondays.

Wait time is significantly shorter.

Good luck and may the odds be in our favor.

Got rejected for Online Access Code

So, I never got my online access code in the mail.

I applied via paper and submitted it via USPS Priority Mail on May 16th, 2026. My application was delivered May 19th, 2026. I got my biometrics notice and the 2 receipts showing that they took the $85 and $520, all in the mail.

Apparently, I was also supposed to get a paper in the mail with my online access code before I got my biometrics notice but I never got it.

I tried to file online to request a new one but I kept getting technical error and then rejected.

So I called USCIS hotline and explained my situation and had the agent file a request for me.

It's supposed to come within 30 business days but today, I got an email saying it got denied.

"In regard to resetting your Online Access Code, after careful review, we were unable to generate a new Online Access Code associated with the Receipt Number you have provided. Please ensure you have provided the correct Receipt Number and/or email associated with the case in question and that the old Online Access Code is not already in use."

I have no idea what to do because I know I gave the right number for the right form.

Between this and the copies (see my previous post), I'm done with USCIS.

I got my current DACA card and approval letter in the mail

My current DACA expires Feb 9th of 2027. I applied for renewal May 19th, 2026.

2 weeks ago, I got an approval letter in the mail but the dates of the approval letter are for my current DACA.

Just now, I got an EAD card in the mail. With the same exact dates of renewal of my current EAD.

Basically, I got another approval notice and DACA card that I already have.

This has never happened before and I'm worried they are mixing up my renewal with my current DACA.

I don't know what to do. I've contact the paralegal from CUNY citizenship now and trying to get the paralegal to connect me with the attorney.

I'm also going to call USCIS and ask them about it.

Online Access Code

Hi, I submitted my application via paper (never again) and within a couple days, I got my biometrics notice and the receipt of payment both via paper mail.

I've already done my biometrics and I have never gotten my online access code. For those who don't know, when you submit a paper application you're supposed to get a paper that says we've received your application and here is the online access code to track your application to the USCIS account.

I've tried to submit for a new online access code myself and tried my best to make sure that my IOE receipt number (that I got via text) matches the form I filled out but I keep getting error messages.

I got 2 IOE receipt numbers (for Form I-821D and for I-765). Again, I submitted a request after I got told that there was an error and I need to submit a new one.

My paralegal from CUNY isn't responding to my emails but wondering if anyone here can help if they're gone through something similar.

My DACA Application Timeline

I'm in NYC and of India origin (citizenship). I do not have any record of any kind and I have not filed for any sort of asylum nor has anyone in my family.

I used CUNY legal services for my renewal which I submitted via USPS to the Chicago office via paper.

Here's my timeline:

Saturday, May 16th, 2026: Sent via express shipping with USPS (office was closed Monday for federal holiday)

Tuesday, May 19th: USCIS received my application (via USPS tracking number)

Friday, May 22nd: USCIS sends me a text saying they got my application

Monday, May 24th: Charges go through my credit card, one for $85 and another for $520 under name of United States Government Agency

Saturday, May 30th: Got my biometrics appointment for June 11th via paper and got the official paper receipts for the renewal charges

Monday, June 8th: Did my biometrics early. I rescheduled on USCIS since I couldn't come in Thursday of June 11th.

That's all I have for now. I will post when there are any updates. I still didn't get any papers to connect my paper renewal with the online code to my USCIS account. Looking back, I definitely should have done it online but what's done is done.

Good luck everyone, may the odds be in our favor.

Free Resource Renewals for DACA

Hi Everyone,

I've been using CUNY legal services for my DACA renewals. They are completely free and a paralegal will take your information and then will pass to an attorney to double check the paperwork.

I'm sharing this resource because I just saw a post from someone in NYC that is paying way to much to attorneys for the renewals.

Few things, CUNY legal services for those who are or were CUNY students or live in NYC.

I spoke to the paralegal and told her I know so many DACA recipients who aren't in either category and she said that you all need to basically lie and say you're remote CUNY students living in another state since they don't really verify that information.

I've used these services for the past 2 renewals without any issues.

https://www.cuny.edu/about/administration/offices/communications-marketing/citizenship-now/services/daca/

ALSO, the Hispanic Federation has a lot of money to give away for DACA renewals and other immigration/asylum paperwork. They will take 1 month to get the money and you do not need to be Hispanic to get money.

However, if you cannot be in NYC to pick up the check then tell the paralegal from CUNY you want to file it online so they can email it to you.

IAS Immigration Appointment

Hi,

I'm a DACA recipient. I have no arrest record, no deportation, no submitting for asylum and I'm trying to get the hell out of this country. My company has global locations and I'm trying to go to Ireland (since I can do my job in Ireland through tech sales).

I decided to book a consultation with IAS https://iasservices.org.uk/global-immigration-lawyers/ and it was a mistake.

When I submitted my immigration consultation, I told them I was DACA and I only want to meet with someone who knows what DACA is and how that would impact my work authorization visa to Ireland and naturalization down the line.

Before anyone here tells me no EU attorney that would know about DACA, I spoke to this one https://www.winheller.com/en/about-us/attorneys/foss-persson-kari.html who knew about DACA and TPS and how that would impact my ability to get a working visa in Germany (she is in Germany right now).

She did not know if my DACA would allow me to leave America for a work visa. The entire point of the message above is to find an immigration attorney who can answer these questions above.

Not only that but when I asked her a clarifying question about what ITB2B means (it was in the critical employment skills visa), she said "Google It." I understand as attorneys that there are bound to be words and phrases that they may not know and as a former paralegal, I would much rather hear that they will look it up and get back as a follow up for a $200 appointment.

I ended the appointment 30 minutes early. Y'all, do not book time with these people. Of course after the appointment ended I found a bunch of reviews from Reddit on how terrible they are.

https://iasservices.org.uk/team/oke-okeregha/ this is who i met with and I just wasted $200

My iPhone 11 isn't making any calls. I can't even call 611 from my phone. My parent took my phone to the AT&T store to talk to them and is going to call me through WhatsApp.

I used the chat function on their website and the guy there wasn't helpful at all. He gave me a bunch of numbers and told me to text pre-paid but I'm pretty sure one of them is not a legit phone for AT&T and just a random number I texted pre-paid too.

Has anyone been able to get help specifically for PrePaid when they can't make calls?
