Ive been making quite the lengthy wishlist of books on the thriftbooks app. Some are new. Some are the "good" condition option. Im just curious what condition the books actually arrive in when you pick the "good" or "acceptable" condition options. Obviously every single book sold will have its own varying quality but there has to be a reason certain books new will be $20 and then the very good option drops it down to like $4??

Hi all. Im looking for recommendations for bleak or disturbing books. I dont know why, I just find these kinds of stories more interesting to see into the more vile side of an authors imagination. Some books i like that fall into this category:

I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream- Harlan Ellison

A short Stay in Hell- Steven L. Peck

The Road- Cormac McCarthy

Blood Meridian- Cormac McCarthy

The Outsider- H.P. Lovecraft

The Jaunt- Stephen King

The Mist- Stephen King

I just finished "A Short Stay in Hell" by Steven L. Peck. I liked the faster paced, a few pages in and hes already dropped into his predicament, and the rest of the book is what he does after he discovers what he must do. Or even books like Stephen Kings "Misery" where a bulk of it is Paul stuck at Annie's house.

Or if anyone is bored. I have another post on my profile of my somewhat small bookshelf, if you can give any recommendations based off the books I own. Im eager to discover more that I like! Thanks in advance!
