Oil for searing and then transferring same pan to 400 degree oven.

I like to sear chicken breasts in a cast iron and then transfer to the oven to finish cooking. Right now I'm using Atlas Extra Virgin Cold Pressed or generic Avacado Oil but I just feel like I'm burning the shit out of the oil.

What should I be using? There's millions of options and most of them aren't what they say they are. Anything I can order off amazon?

▲ 2 r/Govee

Trying to find the right outdoor Govee strip for my pepper plant porch.

I've been through 2 outdoor LED set ups in the last 2 years because I keep buying cheap stuff on amazon I guess.

I see a Govee rope for $150 which is wayyyyy up there but if this is a buy it for life scenario I'm totally fine with that. What would you all do for this space? It's a townhouse connected to other units so I don't want to blind the neighbors, but the set ups I've had the last cpl years haven't bothered anyone and I like chilling outside at night.

Length of strip needed: 44ft

Looks like I can make that happen by getting a 32ft rope and a 16ft rope (which I got for free by adding $50 to my order, grabbed a 100ft light strip that could come in handy).

My question is, can those ropes be daisy chained so I can make one long 48ft rope? Thanks.

Where can I buy Balinese Gamelan instruments?

Specifically interested in the instruments used in the Gamelan Gong Kebyar style tuned in the Pelog Selisir scale.

I'm a musician who plays keys and xylophone and I've been getting into Balinese Gamelan music pretty hard. I'm looking for Jegogans, Gangsa Pemades and Gangsa Kantilans, and a Curings

Is there any way to source these instruments? I'm coming up short in my searches. I'll fly to Indonesia if I have to and ship them back.

If you are unfamiliar with this type of music. Here is a link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GsPdTNGnr44

About to play Final Fantasy IV for the first time. (My FF Journey so far)

The first RPG I every played was Wild Arms for the PS1 when I was a kid. I didn't even know I was playing an RPG, I just loved the game. The second RPG I ever played was Golden Sun for the GBA and I loved that even more. The third one I ever played was Final Fantasy X when I was 14 years old. I fell in love right away.

From there I would go on to play 9 (loved it), 8 (loved it even more, especially the soundtrack) and THEN I played 7, and the materia system was like crack cocaine.

I wasn't big on MMOs and didn't have a PC so I skipped 11, but thoroughly enjoyed 12 with the gambit system. 13 was wonderful too and had one of the best soundtracks, but I enjoyed the combat less. Skipped 14 as well. 15 seemed to get hate from a lot of people but I absolutely loved it. The scenery was breathtaking, and the overworld and hunts were a ton of fun.

Fast forward to last week and I finally decided to get the pixel remaster of 1 thru 6.

1 was a solid introduction for barebones turn based strategy. 2 I wasn't a huge fan of because of the weapon lvls, the way you leveled up, and the words you had to learn and use made the game feel like a maze... I was using the guide a lot. 3 took it even further with the job system finally, and it seemed like Square Enix was honing their craft, it was also here that I feel in love my first song. So much so that I ended up recreating the song on Reason. Doga and Unei

My favorite comment I saw on YouTube was "“The hints of greatness of future FF games appeared in FF3. Then by FF4 all hell broke loose”.

I've heard over the last cpl decades just how good 4 and 6 are, so I'm extremely excited to start FFIV today, as I imagine a lot of people would pay good money to experience it again.

Anyways, just wanted to share my love for Final Fantasy and I'll post back when I finish 4. So far the one thing the first 3 games have been lacking is any kind of character development with the main protagonists. But I'm sure 4 will fix that.

8BitDo Ult Bluetooth Bricked (Using w/ Steamdeck)

https://preview.redd.it/88b49cbuda8h1.png?width=1798&format=png&auto=webp&s=0347806bfcce4c53b8426c3358abbdefe7d99480

Here's the model so that there isn't any confusion.

Couldn't get this to post on 8bitdo's subreddit because they're nazis and keep removing my posts no matter how detailed they are.

I use the 2.4gz mode with dongle in the charger dock, which is plugged into the official steamdock. Bluetooth won't even work with it anymore.

I've been having issues where every 15min to an hour while gaming with the steamdeck, the controller will lose connection and then reconnect, it breaks immersion and I finally had it. So I looked it up on reddit and was told to upgrade the firmware on the controller and the usb dongle.

I connected my controller and dongle to my mac laptop and updated the firmware and now it won't work at all with the steam deck and I'm extremely frustrated.

The light just keeps blinking, and the top of the bottom 3 lights stays lit.

Am I cooked? Is it bricked? Is there any way to restore firmware to factory defaults?

Did I install mac firmware and screw it up?

If so is there a better controller to get now that works with steamdeck?

Are there any good cheap dance pads?

I'm 38, and I used to play DDR extremely hard back in the early 2000s, but lately over the last 5 years I've been enjoying stepmania on Keyboard only.

I've gained weight and I hate going to the gym so I think the best way for me to get in shape is to dance.

My game area is carpeted, and I know dance pads can slide around, so I bought some gym padding that fits together like puzzle pieces so I can mediate that.

I've seen builds that get into the thousands, I'm looking for something I can laydown on the floor and move out of the way when I'm not using it.

Budget is $500 if it's a solid pad.

It's been over 20 years just help a brother out thanks.

"Kill........Me.........."

No. I will never let him die.

For anyone wondering, I got eternal youth on this cat on my first playthrough 200 hours ago. I can't do anything with him, but having an eternal kitten in a room provides either +1 comfort, stimulation, or appeal without taking up kitten space. So they are fun to have around.

Do they provide any other benefits? Can mutations become contagious? Or will he just keep mutating into an ungodly monster?
