Traffic situation on Aug 15th

Hi Ooty makkale,

I'm planning for a short drive to Santhanamalai from Coimbatore via kotagiri- Ooty - Gudalur. Will be starting at 6AM.

How will the traffic situation be on Aug 15? And how's the weather like in Ooty and Gudalur?

If the main Ooty road will be packed due to holiday, could you suggest any alternative route from Coimbatore that allows cars to pass.

Riding modes

Hey fellas

What do y'all feel about the riding modes on the NS400Z?

What mode do you prefer most in the city? Have you felt it easy to ride on Off-road mode in the city?

Have you felt any changes on the ABS intrusion on different riding modes?

Thinking of starting a B2B corporate cab service in Coimbatore (2 vehicles) – Any fleet owners here? Need reality check/feedback

Hey everyone,

I’ve been researching local business opportunities in Coimbatore recently. With the IT ecosystem expanding around different areas of the city, I'm seriously considering setting up a B2B corporate transport service for employee pickups and drops. I can also use the cars on others riding apps on the weekends

My plan is to start lean with 2 vehicles (looking at 7-seater MPVs like Ertiga CNG/Diesel) to keep overheads manageable while testing the waters.

Before dropping capital on vehicles and commercial permits, I wanted to post here and get some raw feedback from folks who are either doing corporate cab business, managing logistics, or running fleets in Tier-2 cities.

A few specific questions I have:

Direct Contracts vs. Sub-contracting: With just 2 cabs, is it even realistic to pitch directly to mid-sized IT/BPO companies, or will they only talk to vendors with 10+ vehicles? Should I just start by attaching my cars to existing master vendors/logistics aggregators?

Billing Models: What’s the standard pricing structure moving in IT companies right now? Are companies preferring flat monthly retainer + km caps, or purely per-km rates with daily minimums?

Payment Cycles: How bad is the credit cycle in reality? I'm anticipating Net-30 to Net-60 payment terms, so I know I'll need working capital for fuel and driver pay upfront. Is delayed payment a massive pain point with local IT firms?

Driver Management: How do you guys manage driver reliability and background checks for night shifts? Punctuality seems like the biggest risk that could ruin a contract fast.

If anyone here is running a fleet or working in corporate transport in Tamil Nadu or in any other states, I’d really appreciate your honest take on margins, hidden costs, or red flags I should watch out for.

Thanks in advance

NS400Z owners: Persistent vibration above 3k RPM – need help diagnosing

I've been chasing an increase in engine/drivetrain vibration on my NS400Z for the past ~5,000 km and haven't been able to find the root cause. Mine is a 2024 373cc 40HP version with 16,400kms on the odo

Symptoms:

- Engine is very smooth up to around 3,000 RPM.

- From 3000 RPM onwards, vibration becomes noticeable and continues through the rev range.

- Example: At 60 km/h in 6th gear (~3,800 RPM), the vibration is clearly felt in the handlebars/footpegs.

- If I pull in the clutch while maintaining the same speed, the vibration disappears almost completely.

- There's also a humming/buzzing noise that seems to come from the front/dash/headlight area, though I can't pinpoint the exact source.

What I've already checked:

- Switched from stock Bajaj 10W50 oil to Motul 7100 10W-50, used for 3000kms and again changed to ROWE 10W-50. There's absolutely no change.

- Engine mounting bolts have been checked and tightened.

- The issue has remained consistent regardless of engine oil.

Since the vibration disappears with the clutch pulled in, I'm leaning towards something in the engine/drivetrain rather than tyres or wheel balance.

Possible suspects I'm considering:

- Clutch basket or clutch damper wear

- Primary drive gears

- Counterbalancer issue

- Gearbox input shaft bearing

- Front sprocket or chain wear/tight spots

- Something else transmitting resonance through the chassis

Has anyone experienced something similar on the NS400Z or Dominar 400? What turned out to be the cause, and what should I inspect next before opening up the engine?

Any advice from owners or mechanics would be greatly appreciated.

Where can I buy a sugar-free cake in Coimbatore with delivery by tomorrow

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a ready-made sugar-free cake in Coimbatore for a birthday. Does anyone know any bakeries or cake shops that have sugar-free options? If not readily available, but could be delivered by tomorrow is also fine.

Thank you!
