Red Light Therapy

Does anyone use a red light therapy device? It seemed like research showed promising results, but all the posts seem to be posted roughly 3 years ago. The red light helmet that is mentioned as being used in the trials is a Symbyx Biome helmet. I went to their website and it has ceased operations.

I’m so confused why the studies showed promising results yet they aren’t selling the red light helmet anymore. Anyone know more?

I want to get one for my husband, but I can’t figure out which one is best and questioning the therapy if they aren’t selling the helmet anymore!

Photobiomodulation - Red Light Therapy

This topic has been covered here before, but much is dated from a few years back and I’d like get new updates from people out there about this topic.

Has anyone tried it? What device did you use?

I’ve been listening to countless podcasts with doctors and scientists talking about promising results, but no one really points you in the direction of where to go from there or wavelengths you need, etc. My husband’s doctor knows of the clinical trials, but he doesn’t know that much about it. He’s in more of the mindset that until it’s FDA approved he’s not recommending it. He’s not opposed to it, but he just isn’t familiar with it yet.

Does anyone have any recent studies on it they can link here? Seems most of the things I’ve seen are dated from 2019-2023.

I’ve read one place to shine the red light is on your gut. I understand the gut/brain connection, but they also mention many people with Parkinson’s have gut issues, but that is not an issue of my husband’s. Does that mean I should consider a helmet and not something for guy too? Or do you do it regardless to help strengthen your cells everywhere?

I don’t know where to begin with this, but I’ve read so many promising reports on it that even if it provides a little help with symptoms that would be worth it. My husband struggles mostly with bradykinesia, muscular rigidity, sleep and speech. If it makes any difference - he had REM sleep disorder back in his early 20s. Diagnosed at 47 with PD and he’s 52 now.

Thanks for all your help in advance! Links, doctors to follow on the topic, etc would be helpful. I feel so overwhelmed but all the information on there and what is accurate or not.

European Summer Surfing - Family

We’d like to go on a surfing vacation this summer with our family. We have 4 kids 10-15 years old - self taught to surf, and just recently went to Costa Rica and took actual lessons for a week.Would love to go to Europe, but open to anything. The waves were 5-6 ft some days in Nosara CR, and that was too big for my littlest son. Looking for 3-4 ft swells ideally. Any ideas? Would love to go somewhere with a nice town to explore, lively to some degree, but not a party town. If there is surf camp, that would be great. My little two really wanted an instructor with them since waves could be big it would put them at ease knowing someone was right out there with them.

Any suggestions? Would appreciate it!

Buying a board

Buying a board for my son. I want to find one used if I can so I can’t really choose a specific board. All I know is that he loved this one particular board - a 5’10 Al Merrick ‘Rocket Wide’. 5’10 x 20 x 2 5/8, 33.5L.

What’s the best way to find something similar? Is it as simple as matching dimensions and volume to those or should I be considering something else? Certain brands? I’m clueless so any help appreciated.

White Water Rafting Next Week

Hello! I’ve heard the water level in river is low in Vail and white water rafting near there is not great. Where is the next best option where we can still get some good white water rafting?

Ages 10 and up. Several families.

Activities for Families

Hi! Traveling to Vail next week. Have done white water rafting and horse back riding before. Any other activities you’d recommend in Vail or within a 30 minute drive? Kids are 10-16 years old, they are active, so the busier it keeps them the better!

Also have other families here too if you have suggestions for a group outing as well as a trip for just our family.

Thanks!!
