Sometimes I walk around Napa at night and photograph interesting spots I notice

I'm a composer who lives in Napa, and in the evenings I take walks while working through songs in my head. Occasionally I photograph things which catch my attention on these walks. I decided to batch my best nighttime walk photos together and share them on r/napalocals, and then I realized they may be of interest here as well. These images are straight off my iPhone's camera roll with no editing or cropping (besides me hiding the car's license plate # in the third picture). All these were taken in the city of Napa, Yountville and St. Helena.

I work downtown and came across the tip of this shadow while re-parking my car

My car happens to be the white vehicle in the distance that's dead-center beneath the shadow of the church, which I thought was a cool coincidence (I parked it there many hours before this shadow appeared).

I'm living proof all Romantic composers looked the same

/uj I'm also a composer and I am making a documentary-style video about working on the same 2 pieces for 3 years. I promise I won't remove the video when I post it, even if people make fun of me (unlike that other guy's "I Am A Composer" documentary from last year lol).

A full orchestra recorded my music in one room for the first time today

I'm a composer and technically my first orchestral recording took place in March, but that ensemble separated all the sections into different rooms and had them perform asynchronously.

Today was the first time an orchestra performed all the parts of my music at once, and it was very interesting to see how dissimilar the experience was from the earlier setup. Having every instrumentalist playing in sync within the same room hit totally different, even though I watched both performances from thousands of miles away via Zoom.

I apologize if this post comes off as too self-promo-y -- I just feel super lucky to have had this opportunity and wanted to share it somewhere. I can answer questions about how these recording sessions work, and I'm sure I can learn a lot from the people here since I'm still new to this myself.
