23F, just opened an Al Meezan account. How should I split Rs 7–8k/month for a house in 8–9 years?

Hi everyone,

I'm 23 and earn around Rs 150-200k a month. My main long-term goal is to buy a house or invest in property within the next 8–9 years, so I've started looking into mutual funds and have opened an Al Meezan account.

I'm planning to invest Rs 7,000–8,000 per month through SIP, starting now. Since I'm young and have a fairly long time frame, I'm comfortable taking some risk for better returns.

So far I'm considering:

  • Meezan Balanced Fund for the house goal
  • KSE-Meezan Index Fund (KMIF) for long-term wealth

My questions:

  1. How would you split the monthly amount between these funds (or others)?
  2. Is the Balanced Fund a good choice for an 8–9 year goal, or should I lean more toward the index fund?
  3. Any tips for someone just starting out?

Would really appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Best way to send Preply earnings(USD)from Payoneer to family in Turkey

Hi everyone, I'm a Preply tutor based in Pakistan and I'm trying to figure out the best setup for my earnings. I'd really appreciate advice from anyone who's been through this.

My current situation:

  • I get paid on Preply and I withdraw to Payoneer
  • I'd like to keep my money in USD because Occasionally I need to send money to my sister's bank account in Turkey for personal/family reasons

The problem: Payoneer only allows business transactions, so I can't send personal payments to family directly from it without risking my account.

What I'm considering:

  • Withdrawing from Payoneer to an nsave USD account in my own name, then sending to Turkey from there (Elevate Pay doesn't support Turkey)
  • Opening an ESFCA at a Pakistani bank to hold dollars
  • Withdrawing to PKR and sending through my bank, though this seems to involve a lot of paperwork for outward remittance, plus taxes and fees and Converting USD USD → PKR → TRY is expensive

So plzzz give ideas and advicee

Preply income from foreign platform — what tax rate applies in Pakistan?

Salam everyone, wanted to ask about the tax situation for income earned through Preply (an online tutoring/teaching platform) for Pakistani freelancers.

Preply pays in USD from foreign clients, so I assume it falls under the export income/foreign remittance category. My questions

  1. Is the applicable tax rate 1% (Section 154A withholding) for non-PSEB registered individuals?

  2. Does teaching/tutoring on an international platform like Preply qualify under IT-enabled services for the 0.25% PSEB rate?

  3. Does it matter how Preply pays out — e.g. via Payoneer vs direct bank transfer — for the tax treatment?

Any CAs or people in a similar situation who can share their experience would be really helpful. Thanks!

How to file taxes as a seller on Laam? Need help understanding the process

Salam everyone,

I sell products through laam (the fashion e-commerce platform) and I have no idea how to go about filing my taxes. I'm a small seller and this is my first time dealing with tax filing.

A few things I'm confused about:

  1. What category does Laam income fall under — is it considered "business income"?
  2. Does Laam send any kind of sales statement or certificate that I can use for tax purposes?
  3. What expenses can I deduct (packaging, shipping, platform fees, etc.)?
  4. Is there a minimum annual income threshold before I have to file?

If anyone here has experience with this — whether you file yourself or use a CA — I'd really appreciate some guidance.
