Some Buyer's Remorse

Switched from a much loved F55 over to F56 SE. I kind of miss the form factor of the F55, how solid it felt, and the way the engine felt.

What appealed the SE to me was the draw of instant torgue and linear acceleration, which is present in all EVs, but in the awesome fun form factor of a Mini.

Might just take me some time to get attached to the new car, but def am feeling a bit sad about the old solid and reliable F55 family car.

What's Your Winter Tires Setup?

I've never owned a car with staggered tires...

Would love to survey the community here:

  • What's your year and trim? Base tire size?
  • Did you downsize for the winter set? Say 20" down to 19" etc? What're the specs?
  • Did you stagger the winter set too, or, switch them to be the same so they can be rotated?
  • Did you get a dedicated set of rims for the winter set?
  • Where did you buy from?
  • Any impact on performance or anything else notable?

Just Bought a 2023 Volvo C40 Twin Ultimate Dark

Technically put a deposit down, waiting for them to complete a few things and then pick the car up...

What should I know? How should I feel? I'm so excited but also so nervous. This community was really helpful in giving me the confidence to move forward with the decision.

Fixing Yellow Ring on Iconic Cooper Wheels

I just signed for this Iconic 2023 Cooper SE and I'm so darn excited. It was so fun to drive!

Unfortunately, the previous owner really curbed up pretty much all four wheels. The metal power spokes themselves appear fine, but the yellow ring (as pictured) is pretty chewed up.

The dealer said they can't fix the yellow ring because it's plastic...

I'm not sure what to do next.

A part of me is thinking plan B is to just gently touch up the missing paint with the closest yellow nail polish color, lol. It won't smooth it out, but the color will somewhat camouflage the issue.

I'm hoping this community may have better or more creative solutions than my half baked ones...

Cancellation After $49 Down Payment

Hi there,

Wondering if anyone else has had experience dealing with this.

I know AFTER the pass is issued and once the relevant season has started, you can request for a refund if you have an eligible event occurrence.

If you've paid the $49 deposit/down payment for the upcoming 2026/2027 season for an epic pass or an edge card, and the remaining balance has yet to be charged (due in the fall) and the passes are yet to be issued, what are the options or steps for cancellation if you're willing to forfeit the $49?

I've reached out to Whistler Vail and they've been unhelpful, they just respond that no refunds are allowed... but this isn't a refund, it's a cancellation request, for something that hasn't been charged and hasn't been issued.

I Just Want An Electric Cooper 4 Door

This is like a Goldilocks problem. We've test driven both the Mini Cooper 2 Door SE as well as the Mini Countryman SE, and while we found delight in both of them, one is too small and the other too big.

Our family daily driver car is a 4 door hard top Cooper S. We love this thing. This nifty little beast has hauled everything from a crib, to a changing table, winter tires, dog, toddler, the elderly and their large collapsible walker, to a bookshelf, large tall plant, etc.

It is deceptively large, more comfortable than you'd think, and is just such a joy to drive. The turning radius is awesome, and we say thank you to our car for being nifty every time we have to park anywhere.

It is literally the perfect car for us. We're mostly city / near the city folk, and although we can make it work, we truthfully don't need the larger size of a Countryman, and while we don't mind it, it just doesn't spark as much joy as the 4 door package does for us. That being said, it's too difficult loading passengers in and out of the back of a 2 door; we have a family and the 2 door is too limiting.

We just want exactly what we have, a 4 door mini cooper. But electrified.

Please, for the love of all that's holy, not everyone needs either an SUV (countryman) or is a single/DINK couple (2 door mini). There are some of us who think the 4 door is THE perfect city family car.

All I want for Christmas is world peace, and Mini to release an EV version of the 4 door hard top cooper SE, and to bring it to Canada.

MINI COOPER 4 DOOR HARD TOP SE

PLEASE!!!

That is all.

EDIT: We don't get the Aceman in our region. And we still literally just want them to stick an electric battery pack into a cute little 4 door Cooper. Coopers are unique and have so much charm. The Aceman looks too much like a miniature Countryman. We WANT the classic Mini look. Electrified. If you're reading this, Mini marketing department, hear our prayers.
