The Sovereign Tech Race: Where does India stand with AI models compared to the rest of the world?

The global AI race is heavily unbalanced, and India has a massive catching-up to do:

Global trackers list 3,600+ notable frontier models (dominated by the US and China). Meanwhile, the India has developed just only approx 20 foundational models (with 5 publicly released flagships like Sarvam and Hanooman).

Lack of Indian Models is Dangerous:

  • Western models are "English-first." Processing Indian languages through them is highly inefficient and expensive.
  • Relying on foreign APIs means our citizens' data and intellectual property flow out of the country, risking sudden cutoffs during geopolitical tensions.
  • Global models lack the nuanced local, legal, and historical context of India, often misinterpreting regional norms.
  • Indian tech companies are sending millions abroad in API fees to American giants instead of building local compute wealth.

Does life has any real purpose?

If you compress Earth’s entire 4.54-billion-year history into 24 hours, modern humans (Homo sapiens) appear only in the last \~0.14 seconds.

For the other 23 hours, 59 minutes, and 59.86 seconds, Earth existed without our species.

Even the dinosaurs disappeared only about 20 minutes before midnight.

With such an unfathomably long timeline, an unfathomably vast cosmos, and Earth being an almost insignificant speck within it, we humans spend our brief existence searching for purpose.

Kind of weird.

Does Indian / Tamil life in anyway less than American life ?

being following the Nepal flood News, they keep highlighting how many Americans still missing, but still we don’t have solid count of how many Indians missing and what is the status of them. lot of tamil people missing, number is in 100s, no national media focusing on this, even government is not giving proper answers.

why is this salve mindset, why in India our life is treated as if nothing !!

what stupid thing you kept doing in your relationship and regret it later when you brokeup or divorced ?

How stupid you were, when you kept doing things that slowly build a crack in your relationship without even you realising it and it was too late to fix it.
