Do you guys visit 15th August Celebration in schools?

It's been almost six or seven years since I finished school, and I really miss those events. However, most schools these days don't allow visitors. Do any of you still go to these celebrations? And are you planning on attending one this year?

Help my mom lose weight. I've tried everything.

I'm looking for some advice because I'm feeling stuck.

My mom is 44 years old, 5'1" (155 cm), and weighs 72 kg. For the past month, she's been in what should be a 500–700 kcal daily calorie deficit, and I'm tracking her meals very carefully. She also walks around 7,000–8,000 steps every day.

The problem is that the scale hasn't moved at all. Not even by 1 kg.

She has been incredibly consistent, so it's becoming really discouraging for both of us, especially for her.

She also has:

  • Type 2 diabetes
  • High blood pressure

Another important change is that she had a tobacco addiction but has completely stopped using tobacco for about a month, which we're really proud of.

Unfortunately, I can't afford to hire a fitness coach or dietitian right now, so I'm hoping to learn from people who have been through something similar.

Has anyone here helped a parent? especially a mom with diabetes? If so, what finally made a difference? Is there something we might be overlooking?

I'd really appreciate any advice or experiences. Thank you.

We've Changed r/LalitpurCity's Icon in Support of Sonam Wangchuk 🇮🇳

As many major Indian subreddits have temporarily changed their community icons in support of Sonam Wangchuk, we at r/LalitpurCity have decided to do the same.

Lalitpur may be a small city, and our subreddit may be a small community, but every voice matters. Even a small gesture can show that people across the country care about fairness, transparency, and a better future for students.

This icon change is a symbolic expression of solidarity with Sonam Wangchuk and with everyone advocating for a more transparent, accountable, and trustworthy education and examination system.

Our community is about Lalitpur, but we also believe in standing together when issues affect students and citizens across India.

Every drop counts.
Let's go India. Let's go Lalitpur. ❤️🇮🇳

Thank you Amul for this product

About 3–4 years ago, something changed all of a sudden. I had been drinking tea, milk, and mango shakes my whole life without any issues. Then one day, after drinking a mango shake, I got severe stomach pain and had to rush home to use the bathroom. I thought it was just food poisoning and didn't think much of it.

But after that, it kept happening whenever I had milk or dairy products. Over the next year or two, it got worse. Even small amounts of paneer, kheer, or other dairy would upset my stomach. That's when I realized I had developed lactose intolerance.

I stopped drinking milk completely. I could still eat yogurt occasionally, but regular milk was no longer an option. I even stopped drinking tea and coffee because the milk in them would irritate my stomach.

I started looking for alternatives. Almond milk was too expensive, soy milk just wasn't for me, and then I discovered lactose-free milk. I searched around and found that Amul makes it.

Now I can finally enjoy milk, tea, coffee, and milkshakes again without worrying about stomach issues.

Thank you, Amul. It's genuinely been a game changer for me and is absolutely worth the price.

Discussion regarding on grid solar.

I have roof top solar installed, which exports roughly ~20kw daily, so roughly totals to about 550-600. And my consumption is about 400 units but last month only about 150 units were exported? And I have to pay the rest of 289 units.

Like what the hell is this, is this a computational mistake or it works differently than I thought?

Amazfit active 3 can take screenshots

So I was pressing the down button but couldn't get hold of the watch and I accidentally pressed ok/go button and scroll down button together. It clicked the screenshot 😅

Maybe this was included in manual but who reads it nowadays. Glad Now I won't have to take pictures at certain times, I could just click screenshot.

Need help with my calorie intake

I walk more than 12,000 steps every day and lift weights 3 times per week. According to my Amazfit Active 3, each workout burns roughly 250–400 calories.

I'm 165 cm tall and weigh about 66 kg. I would describe myself as "skinny fat" since I don't have much muscle definition but still carry some body fat.

My calorie intake is usually around 1,500–1,700 calories per day, and I've been trying to stay consistent with that. The problem is that I feel hungry almost all the time, regardless of what I eat. I've tried increasing protein and choosing foods that are supposed to be filling, but the hunger never seems to fully go away.

Given my activity level (12k+ steps daily plus strength training), does 1,500–1,700 calories sound too low for someone my size? Is constant hunger a sign that I'm being too aggressive with my calorie deficit, or is this something that people simply adapt to over time?

I'd appreciate any advice from people who have been in a similar situation.

Macros:

I follow normal Indian diet adjusted to increase my protein intake, I swap snacks with maybe chicken, eggs alternative days, but overall it says same. The veggies change here and there but macros remain identical

Macros: 226 carbs, 90-100gm protein, 30 gm fats

Morning: 15gm chia seeds, 50gm chickpeas, 40 gm pea protein powder

Lunch: Okra Sabji (100gm), Rotis (120 gm), Masala Rice (100gm)

Snacks: 50gm soya chunks + 1 mango

Dinner: 2 rotis (80gm), eggplant sabji

P.S. No milk products I am lactose intolerant
