Malinois/Husky mix. How cooked am I?

Hi all, I recently adopted a ~2 month old Belgian Malinois puppy, and the rescue just gave me her DNA (which they did not disclose before the adoption for some reason, even when I asked about the parents). Her mother is full mal, but the father’s DNA left he with 20% Siberian husky, then a mix of GSD and pit bull.

I have never owned a husky (or any spitz type for that matter) and I don’t know what I’m in for. I know what to do with the malinois craziness but the husky craziness is totally foreign. I think huskies are amazing dogs but not a breed I ever intended to own, because of what I specifically look for and the kinds of things I like to do (bitesports mainly).

So, what am I in for? Any sage advice or helpful comments would be much appreciated. Thank you!

EDIT: Specifically asking about the husky element, hence this subreddit. I have worked many malligators.

My Rescue Girl

I’ve had her a week yesterday and the rescue told me she was about 10 weeks when I picked her up. She’s smart, confident, and very mouthy. The rescue had no info on the father so I’m going to DNA test her at some point to find out what she’s mixed with. Her foster and my VA friend thinks she’ll be pretty big but another friend thinks she might be mixed with a terrier of some kind and end up on the smaller side. Either way, she’s 100% perfect and has a bright future in bitework.

Reservation Cancelled & Yelled At

This is basically a question about what chances we have at getting some kind of resolution from BA for this.

For context: Checked in online beforehand, all travel docs in place, went to check our bags.

We learned that our first leg was delayed by a couple hours, causing us to miss our connection. No problem, they had another just a few hours later. Doesn’t mess with our travel plans. The issue: while waiting for our new connection to be setup, I received a text that our first flight had been cancelled! We’re at the desk so I asked the attendants if something was wrong with our reservation and was told “Yes.” I asked what that was and was sharply told “you don’t even understand so just let us.” This goes on for another 20-30 minutes with at least 4 staff coming and going, on their phones, clicking on the computer, etc. My partner and I are standing there totally in the dark. No one is telling us anything except that our reservation has been cancelled.

I call the number I was given via text to try to get some kind of information, and I’m still on hold when the snappy representative starts yelling at my partner and I. “Is she on the phone?? Are you calling someone about this? This is why I can’t help you because you’re not supposed to be calling! This is why it’s taking so long!” (Mind you I’m still on hold) The woman then threatened us that she would stop “helping” us if I was on the phone. Yelling the whole time. I hung up because I was so frightened. Turns out the staff had actually cancelled our original flight and were trying to cover it up. After almost an hour at the window we walked away with new boarding passes and badly shaken nerves. I’ve flown BA many times; over 10 in the past 4 years. I’ve never encountered this situation or behaviour. What can I do?

EDIT: Our new connection has been cancelled so now stranded at Heathrow 😃😃😃

Hi all! I have a friend who recently adopted a purebred miniature poodle who needed rehoming. She’s just under 3 years old and very smart & receptive. She really needs a “job” but will not exactly be performing circus tricks, truffle hunting, or a water retriever! 😹

Anyway, I am helping with giving her some structure and training. I’d really like to come up with an array of purpose-driven play exercises, maybe some puzzle toys or activities, etc! Something she can use her brain on and get those urges to “do” something out. Not just playing with a ball or going for a walk, she gets plenty of that. Any suggestions would be great!

Walking with my two young kids through Juilliard Park midday today and saw this middle aged woman, with 3 big poodles and a fourth smaller dog, walking around yelling. At first thought she was transient or on drugs to be quite honest, as I saw her walking yelling obscenities. She yelled at multiple people with their dogs out there that I saw. Just be aware if she lives in the area because she scared my kids for sure, very unpleasant.
