What jobs will make me competitive to get into the program?

I think I’m about to start my pre reqs for radiography. What job will make me competitive to get into the program? I’m currently a teller at a credit union and I was assuming I needed to get a job in the medical field in order for it to look better on my resume getting in.

Thanks!

Really close to going back to school

I’m 24, married, and have a house. I’ve been back and forth about going back to school for this for a while now and I think I may really start next year. My school accepts 18 students a year into the program and I know I’ll have to work super hard to get in. My biggest worry and fear is money. I have a mortgage every month that I have to make. I have bills, groceries, all of it. My wife is a teacher and I know that she would help all she could. I am currently a bank teller making less than $17 an hour but it’s something. I know that eventually work would be basically impossible to do while in the program but I would work as much as possible while I could. We have a pretty good emergency fund of over 20k, and our checking never dips under 1k-2k. I don’t understand why I’m so afraid of making the decision to go back to school for this but I am. I know this gets asked 24/7 in here, but would it be possible in my situation? I need to make the decision as soon as possible. I’ve been praying about it and asking everyone around me if they think I could do it but at the end of the day it’s my decision.

Teaching or radiology tech?

I’m 24 years old and I’m currently a bank teller at a local credit union. I’m stuck in a place where I don’t know what I want to do with my life. I obviously value job security and pay but I also want to feel purpose and fulfillment in my career. I previously was an electrical apprentice at my dad’s company for around 4 years and hated it. I knew that eventually that business would be mine but I didn’t want to be doing something I hated for the rest of my life. I’ve always wanted to help people directly and make a difference in peoples lives and I feel like both of those would do that. Im also a middle school youth pastor so I feel like teaching would be similar to that. I know it’s two different things but still similar in ways. Rad tech is interesting to me because I would be directly helping someone in the healthcare field which has always interested me. The pay would be way better as a tech rather than teaching but I want to be happy ultimately. I know that life is more than a job but I would rather not be miserable in whatever I choose to do.

The thing is that I’m married and have a house payment. My wife is very supportive in whatever I would choose to do but I don’t want to put us into debt with student loans when we are basically debt free right now. I know we could make do but it still worries me. Does anyone have any advice. Sorry for the long post.

What other web variants/gadgets do you want to see in the next movies?

I really loved how Peter used his webs in brand new day and am excited to see how that evolves. Personally I freaking loved the web grenades. Reminded me so much of the games. What other gadgets and web variants are you guys wanting the most for the next movies?

24 y/o. Married and have a mortgage. Is it possible?

I’m a 24 year old male. I’ve never really know what I’ve wanted to do with my life. I worked with my dad for 4 years as an electrical apprentice and hated it. I’m now working at a credit union as a bank teller. I’ve been here for around 10 months and I like my job, but I don’t get paid anything. I don’t feel like there’s much room to grow especially in the place I’m in. I’ve always been interested in healthcare and feel like it would be a good fit for me. I know the pros and cons of radiology. I’ve researched it thoroughly. Im the type of person to never pull the trigger on something because im scared of the unknown. I worry about not being able to pay the bills and pay for school if I go back. We have a good emergency fund and never dip below 2-3k in our checking, but that would change going back to school. I just want to know if it’s worth it and if it’s a good idea. Thanks.

Help!

So I’m really into marvel/Star Wars/all of fiction. I’m wanting to know from anyone with experience if collecting comics, Legos, action figures is better than the other in the long run. I love it all but I don’t have the money for it all lol. I also am into sports card collecting but that’s a newer hobby. Just wanted some input. Thanks!

I want to go back to school for radiology tech but am worried about money. Am I overreacting?

I’m a 24 year old that is married and has a mortgage. I am currently a bank teller making nothing. I make about $2k a month. I know that banking isn’t my passion and I’ve wanted to get into healthcare and radiology ever since I heard of it. The problem is, if I went back to school I’m worried that it would be too much pressure on my wife and I to make our bills and mortgage every month plus paying for school. I know that going to do something to better myself and my family is worth it, but I don’t want to do that to my wife. I’ve never truly know what I want to do with my life but I think I would enjoy being in the healthcare field. I love to help others and I feel like I would be able to do that in this field. I know that we could do it but things would get pretty tight I think. Does anyone have any advice for me? Is this career worth it?

Electrical technology 2 year degree jobs?

I went to school to get my electrical technology associates and quit the electrical field. I don’t want to be an electrician, but I don’t want to waste my degree either. Are there any jobs out there that aren’t being an electrician that I could do with this degree? I quit after 5 years of doing it and now I’m making less as a bank teller at a credit union. I just couldn’t handle it anymore. Don’t know what to do with my career at the moment.

Best runs?

I’m looking for pretty much any of the best runs for any character. I’m not into single issues so I would rather have trades or omnibus. If I had to be specific I would probably say hulk, captain america, moon knight, daredevil runs just to start. My favorite hero is spider-man but I have tons of comics I haven’t read yet for him.

Banking/healthcare advice?

Hey guys. So I’m a 24 yo M currently in banking. I’m a teller and I feel like I’m pretty good at my job right now. I started about 9 months ago and I like it. However, I don’t think I want to do banking my whole life. I don’t know I want to move up to a loan officer and make a career out of this. I’ve been feeling a pull to healthcare but there’s some personal things that kind of sway me away from doing it. I’m married and have a house so I don’t know I could go back to school and pay all the money for it. I want to be set in my career before my wife and I have kids. She’s supportive of me in whatever I choose to do but I do not want to put in her in a bad spot. I came from the electrical field, where I was an apprentice for 5 years, into banking because I didn’t like it at all anymore. I just worry that I’ll get through school that I don’t like my job once again. I find it hard to really know what I truly want to do and what will make me feel purpose in a career. I just want to know if anyone in this sub is or has been in the same boat as me. I want to have a good work life balance and make decent money at the same time, which in this world is a hard ask.

Thanks!

What should I do?

So I’m a 24M and I’m currently a bank teller at a local credit union. I have a wife and we own a home as well. I believe we do a great job with saving and save around $1200-$1500 a month (before we started paying a mtg). I want more from my career and I want to feel like I’m really helping others. I’ve always wanted to be in the healthcare field. I’ve been thinking about going back to school to be an x-ray technician or something in radiology. I at least want to get my pre requisites done and then see what I want to do in the field after that.

The problem is that I need to work full time or at least part time while I’m still in school. I can’t afford to stop working for a long period of time. I like my job here at the credit union but I don’t get paid enough and I likely never will. I don’t want to stay in banking.

I may be in the wrong sub for this but I was just wanting to see if anyone could give me any advice on what to do from here. Maybe it would be better to wait a while and be settled with new expenses before I go back to school. I have a habit of saying these things and wanting to do them and then deciding not to because it makes me uncomfortable. It took everything in me to actually branch away from what I was previously doing before this job because I just hate the unknown and feeling insecure. I make less doing what I do now but I’m happier. I just think getting into healthcare would really satisfy me as far as career goes.

If anyone has any advice let me know! Thanks!

Anything you don’t like about the job?

I’m interested in going to school and getting into xray tech or rad tech. Is there anything you don’t like about this job? Or more than one thing? I’m 24 and married but I’m just a bank teller so I want to be set in my career soon before my wife and I have kids. I’ve always been interested in healthcare and working in that setting and have had multiple people tell me I’d be good at this. I just want to know what the pros and cons are to this field. An RN that I know has told me to go back and get my pre requisites done first and then pick what I want to do but I’m really interested in radiology. Just trying to figure it all out.

Thanks!

X-ray/rad tech

Hello! I’m looking into going back to school for x-ray/rad tech. I’m 24 years old and currently working at a credit union as a bank teller. I enjoy my job but I don’t feel purpose and I don’t make enough money. I’ve always felt like I would do good in healthcare in some capacity because I feel like I have a tender heart for others. Not saying they don’t get on my nerves but I do care about people. I’ve had multiple people tell me I’d be a good nurse or something along those lines in healthcare. I’m really just trying to find a stable job in something that I enjoy and feel purpose in. My wife and I just bought a house and I want to be able to have my career before we have kids. In my area, it’s a two year program to get into the school for x-ray tech as well so I need to move fast.
