My bathroom remodel. I’m so proud!

My Cottage Witch Powder Room!

First two pics are the before. I wanted to keep a botanical theme and designed around the dried flowers. This wallpaper sent me the rest of the way into whimsy territory and I love the moths and stags printed on it.

I did the entire thing myself except for painting the ceiling (I wasn’t physically able) and replacing the toilet (had a professional do that). I’m disabled so it took longer than it probably should have but I’m so incredibly proud and I love it SO much!

My 1/2 bath redecoration.

From “meh” to whimsical in just six weeks! (It would have taken less time but I’m disabled and needed frequent breaks.)

First two pics are the before, the last few are in progress pics.

“Your son is an alien.”

I’m at the dr office today in the waiting area. There’s a mom and her kid, a little boy about 8 years-old, a few chairs down from me. Kid has a paper cup of water from the free jug and mom’s on the phone.

Kid: “Mom! Look! Look!”

Mom: “Just a minute buddy, I’m on the phone.”

K: “But it’s important! I made a discovery!”

M to person on phone: “Hold on a sec, apparently we’ve made another important discovery.” M to kid: “What is it, honey?”

K: “My tongue floats!”

M: “Your what?”

K: “My tongue floats!”

Proceeds to stick his tongue on the top of the water in his cup to demonstrate its buoyancy.

M: “You are so funny, kiddo!” M to person on phone: “I swear to god your son is an alien.”

I’m looking for a retro gaming emulator that plays either games you can download, or vintage Nintendo cartridges and has wireless controllers.

We have a rambunctious kitty that makes it hard to play our vintage Nintendo games because of the controller cords. We’re looking for a way to still enjoy our favorite games while keeping our kitty and consoles safe. Does anyone make such a thing?

Fawn Zoomies! (OC)

This is my friend Ilene and her newest batch, Jenny. Jenny was born in that forested side yard a few weeks ago.

(Sorry for the loud truck. We live out in BFE and our neighbors are hosting a wedding on their property today so there’s been trucks driving by for catering and such. It’s normally very quiet out here. The fawn didn’t seem to mind.)

First time snail owner, here! Boy, y’all weren’t kidding when you said they make a lot of eggs.

I’ve been checking the tank every few days after seeing them be snintimate and then start tunneling as I didn’t want to miss the first clutch. I finally spotted a single egg on the surface and started digging and hoo boy, they went on and on down there!

I scooped them out with a tiny medication spoon and gently filled in the tunnel. I froze them and then threw them away (my snails are an invasive species and it wasn’t responsible to let them gestate and release them). Was that okay? I read that was the most humane thing to do with them and squishing them gave me the ick.

This is my whole neighborhood’s packages. That gate is at the end of our rural street and opens out to a literal empty field.

The gate is at the very end of our street and no one ever drives down there because it’s just a gravel road that turns into open fields and then forest. Fortuitously, our neighbor’s dog got out and they went down to the field to look for him, where they found this pile of packages (and the dog) and kindly delivered them to where they are supposed to go. Thanks, pup!

I’m kind of cracking up because like, what the hell was the driver thinking? “Oh shoot, I’m behind schedule! Best I release these packages to the meadowlands and call it a day!” I guess I need to start checking the fields when my orders go missing.

The perfect rasp marks in this zucchini make me happy (and the snail that made them).

I’m new to snail-keeping but I’m absolutely intrigued by these slimy little veggie bulldozers. This is Strawberry, devourer of gourds and bane to butter lettuce.
