What are your favourite tames for PVP

Ill start, mine is the beelzebufo.

Torpor inflicting attacks

Extreme manevuarbilty and verticality

Deceptively high weight and HP

Can weild weapons while mounted

I dont use traps because of the maneuverability of the frog!

I also put a lot of points into weight, making the frog a viable tame for metal runs... like actual metal runs. I carry about 500 - 1000 metal on a high level frog.

Also hm goes to the purlovia, as much as we all hate this creature. I am a solo, and the reality of that is that im going to be raided in minutes, so instead of trying to survive in some dense forest, I hide all my loot in trilobites and purlovias across the map. My goal when playing PVP is to have fun, so I help new players with my frog, get them to flak, warn them of nearby turrets and whatnot, and then I waddle away.

My hot take is that all of you are playing PVP wrong. Late game BS where you live on an island with turrets and plant x all around you is boring! If you want to have fun in PVP, I suggest you join a high multiplier server like 6x or 10x and stop being afraid of dying!

Retired ARK player here

Ive been off the game for about a year now, and im quite desperate to get back. But why did i quit? Well i quit because I was tired of the DLCs.

Let me explain. In my time playing, online obviously, i would stick to unofficial servers and play completely solo. I played like this with one goal in mind, to help new players, because I was bullied when i was new, and to subsequently, make the large tribes lives a living hell. I would do just about anything I could to achieve this. I think my lowest point was when I spent a good 16h on removing this Tribes fertilizer and shooting their dinos with a rifle while they were offline.

I just have so so so kuch more fun playing like this, because it means i engage in low level combat too, I fight people with bows and PTs and fuckin turtles!

So i had great fun, until I started losing faith due to all the DLCs, I had a very rough time when the servers restarted and all of a sudden, half the big tribes from other servers were just killing new players on their note runs with wyverns for fun.

We got through that, later on, I tames a level 130 Rex and a guy on a Lil 80 pyromane deleted me! That was a core memory for me. (Ngl I think I was just eepy and was playing badly). But through time, I began losing hope because players were just doing some crazy shit in their megatribes. The dlcs pushed me over the edge, they made me feel like I must buy them in order to have an advantage, and then the servers reset one last time. I remember on the day of the server reset, that was amazing. We had a little naked fight club wirh the 7 or so people left online. I left and never logged back on.

Recently ive been really really desperate to play ark again! I think the problem was that i was playing the wrong servers. Maybe what I should have been doing is been playing servers with level caps. I think they're called primal or something. I can see the rules are telling me not to speak anymore about this, so im not asking for server names, rather, where do i actually go to find the servers?

But yeah, tell me your experience! I quit playing ark to play the souls games, so I still had a blast. I dont like snail games, whether you think they did a good job with ASE. Have a good one.

Thoughts?

I think this person is obviously wrong about the plot holes, but I agree about the discovering the story part. At times its very difficult to understand people's motives and historical significance. But definitely not all the time. On my first run of every souls borne game, I play solely without guides, and I look through all the notes and messages and weapon and and charachter descriptions. I do get lost sometimes, but definitely not all the time!
