Dont ask me why this was done. Just know this turned out great!

Needed to eat something sweet, quick. I often do a 1 minute mug cakes w maida, but aaj freezer khola toh khula hua Tapioca powder ka packet dikh gaya. It was intended to make momo, but the idea never picked up steam. So, I was like WHAT COULD EVEN GO WRONG?!

Toasted 4tsp skimmed milk powder until golden brown. 3 tsp powdered sugar. 4 tsp tapioca powder. 1/2 tsp cocoa powder. 1/4 tsp baking soda & powder. Pinch of salt. Mix.

1 tsp ghee. 1/4th cup water. Mix until slightly liquidy. Top it with chopped dark chocolate.

In the oven. 90 seconds. I did extra 30 seconds after knife test only to realise I didnt need it. Waited for the handle part of borosil to cool slightly. Spooned the FUDGY YUM!

(I aint a biochemist but 4 tsp of milk powder should contain about 15-20g of Protein if it didnt denature so..win?)

Dopahar mere bete jaise mitr ko Aavjo jana tha, so he took me along, ordered some takeout, while I wanted to drink something, so I ordered Cold Coco. An respectable 1/5, nice of the counter guy to not charge me for the only sip I had. Dost ko waha ka khana bohot zyada pasand aya lekin.

Phir shaam ko Devendra Nagar mein round maar raha tha, toh yaad aya ki last week ek Maggi point dekhi thi. Toh yaha rukk gaya. Asked the owner what was nice, he suggested Garlic Cheese Maggi. Phir kuch peene ko chahiye tha, so I asked ki how do they make their coffee, powder se, grounds se, or bottled liquid wali. The guy said they order instant coffee from Bangalore, so I asked him to make a cold coffee for me. And man 80/- mein kya filam dikha di. Maza agaya coffee mein. Maggi was nice too. Phir last mein jaate jaate added a Chilli Lime Fries(ig) and yeh bhi mast nikla. Phir maine poocha kitna time hogaya and my guy said the place was A YEAR OLD. Mai har doosri din waha se guzarta hoon lekin I just spotted this place like a week back. Very underrated place imo. More so because the guy was honest about the ingredients he was using.

As if Telibandha Frullato wasn't painstakingly meetha enough, mfs had the audacity to open up in Devendra Nagar in Axis' lane. My friend asked for some specific coffee drink they used to serve long back with some taamjhaam make, and the owner said, "ab waise tareeke se toh nahi banate, lekin end product abhi bhi same hi hai.", then ended up giving doodh and bournvita for 120. It wasnt coffeeish, or creamy, or thick or even cold for that matter. Worse even, they didnt even have ice. Easy 1/5.

And thought to randomly revisit GOATED Maharaja for Semusa and Sabudana vada. Maza aa gaya.

Kal shaam ko kuch thanda thanda peene ka mann hora tha. Shankar Nagar 1DM khula nahi tha , toh paas wali Kolkata puchka mein mast thandi thandi dahi gupchup dabaya. Uske baad kuch samajh nahi aya toh mere bete jaise dost ne bola Okiro chalte, and I was like kar sakte try.

Jaise hi gate pe pohcha, looked zyada hi fancy. Sadly it looked exactly like 50 other premium cafes in town. Inside was Jam packed. Upar gaya aur indoor balcony wali seat pe baith gaya. And the very first thing that I notice after their messed up Menu was Makdi ka jaala. Right above my table. And ek aur jagah above entrance. 15 minute tak koi aya nahi poochne. Phir Menu mila. Printer se nikala hua, an endlessly confusing menu. 150-200 item toh honge hi, all on the higher priced side. 15 minute bar bar pages palat palat ke kuch samajh nahi aya toh ek parmesan fries, 1 vietnamese, aur ek rum barrel coffee with cold foam.

Pehle fries aya, with ketchup. I asked if I theyve another dip option. Cheesey dip le aao bola. Nahi aya 10 minute. Phir kisi aur ko bola. Fries on itself were very good. Like the 2nd best Ive had in Raipur.

Phir aaye coffees. Mera RumBarrel coffee looked disguisting, with its foam curdling. Uski black coffee tasted boozy and nice, foam ke saath ja nahi rahi thi. Mix karne pe it look way more disgusting.

Uske 10 minute baad dip aaya. And the texture was messed up. Ajeeb sa. Taste bhi nahi tha.

830ish ka bill bana for 3 items + water bottle.

3/5 at best for now.

I've this friend who been w me since class 1, we'd share our lunch, he'd love my tiffin(and likewise) especially maggi and gol aloo ki sabzi. Its been like 15 years since hed last tasted it(and have I), and hed often ask me ki "bhai aunty ko bolna woh wali maggi bhejegi". I'd also told this to my mum and she was always like bana deti hoon, le jana, but idk why it never came to fruition until today. (And yes, he's never visited my house so theres that)

AAJ I was on a call with him for some kaam ki baat, and he heard my mum in the bg and asked ki "maggi khila" and I was like dekhte hai, milta hoon. Toh since I was about to meet him at his office, I thought why not today. And I asked my mom. And my mum, excited, got off her bed quick into prep. She's very shy and gets very self conscious in situations such as these. Toh every time Id get to the kitchen to see how things were coming up, shed be like "bahar nikal tu yaha se, waise hi meko dhak dhak horaha hai achha banega ya nahi". And I was like usko taste shayad yaad bhi nahi hoga so, you do you. And it turn out just how it shouldve. 🤙

So, it was time for packing. Toh now she was worried ki kisme pack karu. Achha lagna chahiye, kum nahi padna chahiye wagerah. Toh she was like rukk, ek tiffin nikalti hoon.

AND LEGIT BROUGHT ME MY 20 YEAR OLD SCHOOL KA TIFFIN(thats in the photo) AND I CRIED OUT OF JOY AND NOSTALGIA.

Phir dost ke office gaya, ek ghante baitha without telling him, and then suddenly took the tiffin out. And HIS EYE LIT UP! He quickly sent a picture on out WA group, and other rushed to his office for a bite. 🥴

The maggi my mum packed for me was very distinct, with fried aloo, tamatar, peas, onions, and by time I had my lunch, itd become a solid block of sorts, leeching out oil and shi unto my school bag, but it was a class favorite. Mast thanda thanda haath se khate thhe sab. 🤌

Aaj Bhilai se Raipur jaate time, bhookhe paet stopped at this eatery at Selud chowk, some 10 minutes off Newai.

Shortly after, barish shuru hogayi. Coincidentally, iss hotel ka naam bhi "Varsha" tha.

Aaj dobara Brahma Cafe gaya cuz my friend wanted to try it. The Idli seemed pretty mid, sambar was meh too.

The garlic paneer thing was something out of ordinary and pretty pretty good.

Coffee sundae wasnt as good as their first day. Paid little over 500.

Visited them on their opening day too when Id ordered Ghee Podi Dosa which was good, Tharra(Kokum) which wasnt good, complimentary Jaggery pongal and Upma both of which were decent. Free coconut water bhi mila tha uss din. Shayad ek aur kuch order kiya tha uss din, but yaad nahi cuz yaad nahi.

Itne sab mein, I couldnt find anything special about the place, which is something Id suggested the founder of the brand on the launch day. Location acchi hai, initial hype hai, isliye maybe din mein bhi bheed thi.

Wapsi mein stopped stopped at Cafe Cochin, Raipura. Same road. Weirdass pricing on their menu. Had Paneer Ragda Pav and Salted Lime Soda. 80/- mein pav felt dry and uncooked, andar ka material was mast. 50/- ke Soda mein ya toh soda purana tha ya paani daal diya tha. Aur soda/paani laaye bhi Paneer pav khatam hone ke 10 minute baad.

Someone some days back suggested against Uncle Pappe citing how its fkn expensive and that Bhel here itself costs 400. Turned out it isnt "that" expensive and Bhel was 200(still much though). Baki sab ka pricing current standard hi tha. Coffee was pretty good and pretty different, Pizza ka sauce was mast, crust wasnt as much. Good service too.

Chai gundam Insurance scam ke sath coffee scam bhi chala raha. Bournvita pila raha. Good Paneer Bhurji Pav though. Jam Bun Maska zyada hi meetha tha. Khakhra pizza is nice.

Tried my hands on w this summer cooler. Whey protein conc + instant coffee + Monk fruit sweetener + paani + soda. Wouldve probably been better had it been an isolate.
