Meghalaya in the first week of July , good time to visit or too difficult because of monsoon?

Hey everyone, we’re planning a Meghalaya trip in the first week of July with a group of 5, and we’re also thinking of self-driving the entire trip.

I’ve been hearing very mixed opinions , some people say this is actually the best time to experience Meghalaya because of the greenery and waterfalls, while others say the rain can make travel really difficult.

Wanted to know from people who’ve actually visited around that time , how manageable is it realistically? Are roads generally okay for self-driving? Do waterfalls, viewpoints, and trekking spots remain accessible, or does heavy rain/fog end up ruining a lot of the experience?

We’re okay with rain of course, but just wanted to understand whether it’s still enjoyable overall or if it becomes too difficult to move around.

Would really appreciate honest suggestions and experiences. Thanks!

Hey, I’m 22M and recently moved to Indiranagar. I tried wall climbing near the Indiranagar metro about a month ago with a school friend and really enjoyed it, but he’s not in town anymore.I’m still pretty new to climbing ,I’ve managed to complete a few V3/V4 routes and would love to find people around here who are also into it. Mostly just looking for some good company to climb with regularly.

If you’re up for climbing together sometime, feel free to reach out !!!
